InadditiontotheNorthwestPowerGridhighestvoltagelevelis330KW,Shandong,Fujianandotherprovincespowergridhavebeenbuilt500KWmainframe. EastChinapowergridcapacityhasexceeded50000MW. ThecountryhasbuiltthelargestthermalpowerplantforBeilunpowerplant,theinstalledcapacityof3000MW;thelargesthydropowerstationforthetwohydropowerstation,theinstalledcapacityof3300MW;thelargestnuclearpowerplantfortheDayawannuclearpowerplant,theinstalledcapacityof1800MW.
Chinahasmastered6000mwofthermalpowerunitsand5000KWACpowertransmissionprojectdesign,manufacture,construction,debuggingandoperationtechnology;thelocalizationofnuclearpower,DCtransmissiontechnologyhasmadepreliminaryprogress. Ourcountryhasbasicallyhavetheabilitytobuild240mhighdoublecurvaturearchdamandallkindsof180mdamandlargehydropowerstationandpumpedstoragepowerstation.WiththeimplementationoftheThreeGorgespowertransmissionproject,powertransmissionfromwesttoeastproject,powergriddevelopmenthasbeguntoentertheinterregionalnetwork,anewstageofnationalpowernetworkinterconnection.

Withthenationalelectricitytensionrelaxation,theimprovementofpeople'slivingstandard,themainpowergridloadratedecreasedyearbyyear,peakvalleydifferenceismoreandmorebig,powergridpeakshavingproblemgraduallyrevealed. TothemainpowergridinChinaintheyearof2000theaveragepeaktovalleyslipmorethan35%ofsix(CentralChina,Sichuan,Chongqing,Fujian,Guangdong,Guangxi,Yunnan),whichalargeproportionofthehydropowerinSichuanandChongqingandFujianpowergrid,maximumdailypeakvalleyratioreached52.0%and59.2%. C,environmentalprotectiontaskisveryarduous:
China'senergyresourcestocoalbased,inthepowerstructure,thefutureofalongtimetothebasicpatternofcoalfiredunitswillnotchange. Atpresent,theSO2pollutiondischargeofthermalpowerplanthasnotbeeneffectivelycontrolled,thenitrogenoxideiscontrolledbythesingleunitdischargeconcentration.
