Ultrasonicflawdetection
Ultrasoundisamechanicalwave,mechanicalvibrationsandfluctuationsinthephysicalbasisofultrasonictesting.Reciprocatingcyclicmovementofanobjectalongastraightlineorcurveinanearequilibriumposition,knownasthemechanicalvibration.Propagationofvibration,knownasvolatility.Fluctuationsintomechanicalwavesandelectromagneticwavestwocategories.Mechanicalwavepropagationofmechanicalvibrationsinanelasticmedium.Theultrasoundisamechanicalwave.
Themainparametersofthemechanicalwavewavelength,frequencyandwavevelocity.Wavelength:
thedistancebetweenthesametwoadjacentoscillationphaseofthesamewavelineparticleknownasthewavelength,sourceormedium,anyoneparticletocompleteafullvibrationwavejustforwardawavelengthdistance,commonlyusedinmeters(m);frequencyf:
