ThevesseltobedesignedandconstructedasasinglescrewdrivenbyadieselenginelocatedaftandincompliancewiththerequirementsofClassificationSociety.
Thepropellingmachinerytoconsistofaslowspeed,reversibledieselengine,drivingafixedpitchpropellerthroughaforgedsteelshafting.
Thepropellershafttoturnclockwisewhenviewedtotheforwarddirectionwhengoingahead.
Themainelectricgeneratingplanttoconsistofthree(3)generatorenginesandone
(1)emergencydieselgeneratorengine.
One
(1)compositeboilertobeprovided.
Theenginetobeoperatedfromanenginecontrolroom,wheelhouseandemergencycontrolstationattheengineside.
Anair-conditionedenginecontrolroomtobeprovidedandtobeequippedwithenginecontrols,mainswitchboardandothernecessaryequipment.
PowerinthisspecificationtobeindicatedinSI(metric)unit.SIunittobeadoptedfordesign,constructionofmachineriesandmeasuringunits,suchaspressuregauge,thermometer,tankcapacityetc.
Pipes/valvesflangestoconformtoISOstandard.PipedimensionandmaterialofChinesestandardexceptthosepipes/valvesattachedonimportedequipmentwhichtobemaker'sstandard.
Materialofmachineryandequipmenttobeinaccordancewithmaker'sstandardformarineuse.
InthisSpecification,ifthedescriptionofthematerials,accessoriesofthemachineandtheequipmentisincoordinatewiththemaker'sstandard,thenmaker’sstandardtobetaken.
1-2INSPECTIONANDTEST
AllinspectionandtestsformachineriesshouldbecarriedoutinaccordancewiththerequirementofClassificationSocietyandmaker'sinspectionstandard.
PlanandscheduleofinspectionsandtestsoutsideshipyardattendedbyOwner'srepresentativestobesubjecttoOwner'sapprovalinadvance.
Forthoseinspectionsandtests,Ownerintendstoattend,theOwner'srepresentativetobenotifiedwellinadvance,allowingsufficienttimefortravelarrangement,andtobecarriedoutbythemakerinthepresenceoftheClassificationSocietyandOwner'srepresentative.
DatatoberecordedduringthesetestsandtheresultstobesubmittedtotheOwner.
However,iftheOwner'srepresentativecannotattendduetohisowncause,theseinspectionandteststobeentrustedtosurveyoroftheClassificationSocietyand/orshipbuilder'sinspector,resultsofwhichtoberegardedasacceptancebytheOwner.
AllinspectionandtestsformachineriesshouldbecarriedoutaccordingtoClassificationSocietyandagreedwiththeOwner.

Thefollowingteststobeperformedbyusingequipment,lubricatingoil,cyl.oilandmarinedieseloiletc.suppliedbymaker.

M/Eoverhaulinspectionincludingonewholeunitofenginecomponentstoopenupforinspectionsuchascylindercover,piston,cylinderliner,crossheadbearings,crankpinbearings,mainbearings.Besides,gearwheelinspectiondoorstoopenupforinspection.FVvalvesforonecylinderunittobetested.Exhaustvalveseatconditiontocheck.

Thefollowingteststobeperformedbyusingequipment,lubricatingoilandmarinedieseloilsuppliedbymakerwithACalternatorcoupledtogether.

Performanceandcontinuousrunningteststobecarriedoutinaccordancewithmaker’sstandardandincompliancewithrequirementofClassificationSocietyanddocktrialscheduleagreedwiththeOwner.
1-3FUELOIL
Theenginetobedesignedtoburnheavyfueloilupto700cSt/50°C(7000secRW/100°F).
Butheavyfueloilhavingaviscosityof700cSt/50℃tobeusedformainengineatnormalseagoing,startingandstopping,andcanbeexchangedovertoMDO(≤6cSt/40°C)ifnecessary.F.O.heatertobedesignedfor700cSt/50℃.
ThedieselgeneratorenginetobedesignedtouseHFOupto700cSt/50°CsameasformainengineandalsoMDOatstart/stop.
Theemergencydieselgeneratorshouldbedesignedtoburnmarinegasoilonly.
Similarheavyfueloilusedinthemainenginetobeusedfortheboiler,coldstartingoftheboilertobedonebyMDO.
ArrangementsforLowsulphurfueloiltobeprovided.SeparateMGOtanktobeprovided
1-4DESIGNCONDITION
Themainengineandthepropulsivemachineryincludingtheshaftingtobesodesignedthatthemainengineissatisfactorilyoperatedatthemaximumcontinuousratingatseawatertemperatureof32°C,engineroomambientairtemperatureof45°C,barometricpressureof0.1MPaandrelativehumidityof60%.
Thebasicideasordesignconditioninplanningthemachineryplanttobeasenumeratedbelow.
