Aboutmeandtheresearchsurvey:
MynameisTaniaMiletic.IamaPhDstudentwiththeUniversityofQueensland.IaminterestedinlearningmoreaboutChineseperspectivesonpeaceandconflict.IhavestudiedpeaceandconflictapproachesinmanycountriesinAsia,(havingworkedmostlyinSouthEastAsiaoverthepast7years)andformyPhDstudies,IaminterestedinChineseopinionsandviewsaboutimportantconflictstheyfaceinChinatodayandopinionsaboutsomecommonconflictscenarios.
Conflictsarecommonacrossmanypartsoflife,theycanspanfromthepersonal,nationaltotheglobalscale.InthefieldofPeaceandConflictStudies,thereislessknowledgeaboutnon-WesternunderstandingsofconflictandespeciallyChina.ChinaplaysalargeroleintheworldtodayandsoIthinkthereisaneedforsharedunderstandingsbetweenpeopleandcountriesintheregionandtomakethedisciplineofConflictResolutionmoreculturallyrelevantinAsia.Throughusingthissurveyandaninterview,IwouldliketolearnmorefromyouaboutChineseperspectivesonconflictissuesandhowbesttoapproachconflict.
IhavebeengivenpermissionandethicalapprovalbymyAustralianUniversity–theUniversityofQueensland-andinviteyoutoparticipateinmystudyvoluntarily.Iwouldliketoinviteyouandkindlytakesometime(approximatelyonehourandahalf)todiscusssomeoftheseissueswithme.TherearenorightorwronganswersbecauseIamonlyinterestedinyourownviewsandthoughts.TheSurveyIuseisattached.Iliketodotheinterviewinperson.
