BeforeYouBegin

PleasekeepthebelowpointsinmindbeforeinstallinganOracleManagementAgent12c:

∙OracleManagementAgent12ccommunicatesonlywithOracleManagementService12candnotwithanyearlierreleaseofEnterpriseManager.

∙OraclerecommendsyoutousetheAddHostTargetsWizardtomass-deployManagementAgentsinyourenvironment.TheAddHostTargetsWizardconvertsanunmanagedhosttoamanagedhostintheEnterpriseManagersystembyinstallinganOracleManagementAgent12c.

∙IfyouhaveaReal-ApplicationCluster（RAC）withmultiplenodes,thenyoumustinstallaManagementAgentoneachofthenodesseparately.Inotherwords,intheAddHostTargetsWizard,youmustaddeachnodeexplicitlyasadestinationhost.

∙Bydefault,theAddHostTargetsWizardinstallsonlythefollowingtypesofplug-ins:

oAlldiscoveryplug-insthatwereinstalledwiththeOMSfromwheretheManagementAgentsoftwareisbeingdeployed.

oOracleHomediscoveryplug-in

oOracleHomemonitoringplug-in

Prerequisites

Youneedtoensurethefollowingmandatorypre-requisitesaremetbeforeyoubegininstallation:

HardwareRequirements:

EnsurethatyoumeettheharddiskspaceandphysicalmemoryrequirementsasmentionedinInstallGuidehere.

OperatingSystemRequirements:

a.）CertifiedOperatingSystem:

∙EnsurethatyouinstallEnterpriseMangerCloudControlonlyoncertifiedoperatingsystemasmentionedintheEnterpriseManagerCertificationMatrix.

b.）OSPackageRequirements:

∙Ensurethatyouinstallalltheoperatingsystem-specificpackagesasmentionedinInstallGuidehere.

c.）DestinationHostRequirements:

∙EnsurethatthedestinationhostsareaccessiblefromthehostwheretheOMSisrunning.

∙IfthedestinationhostandthehostonwhichOMSisrunningbelongtodifferentnetworkdomains,thenensurethatyouupdatethe/etc/hostsfileonthedestinationhosttoaddalinewiththeIPaddressofthathost,thefullyqualifiednameofthathost,andtheshortnameofthehost.

Forexample,ifthefully-qualifiedhostnameisandtheshortnameismypc,thenaddthefollowinglineinthe/etc/hostsfile:

e.）SUDORequirements

∙（OnlyforUNIX）EnsurethattheinstallinguserhasSUDOprivilegestoinvoke/bin/shasroot.

f.）SoftwareAvailabilityRequirements:

∙EnsurethatthesoftwareoftheManagementAgentyouwanttoinstallisavailableinOracleSoftwareLibrary（SoftwareLibrary）.

∙IfyouwanttoinstallOracleManagementAgent12conanoperatingsystemthatisdifferentfromtheoneonwhichOracleManagementService12cisrunning,thenensurethattheManagementAgentsoftwarefortheintendedplatformisdownloadedandstoredintheSoftwareLibraryusingtheSelfUpdateconsole.ForinformationabouttheSelfUpdateconsole,seethechapteronSelfUpdateintheOracleEnterpriseManagerCloudControlAdministrator’sGuide.

g.）TemporaryDirectorySpaceRequirements:

∙Ensurethatyouallocate400MBofspaceforatemporarydirectorywheretheexecutablescanbecopied.Bydefault,thetemporarydirectorylocationsettotheenvironmentvariableTMPorTEMPishonored.Ifbothareset,thenTEMPishonored.Ifnoneofthemareset,thenthefollowingdefaultvaluesarehonored:

/tmponUNIXhosts.

InstallationProcedure

ToinstallafreshManagementAgent,followthesesteps:

1.）InCloudControl,fromtheSetupmenu,selectAddTarget,andthen,clickAddTargetsManually.

2.）OntheAddTargetsManuallypage,selectAddHostTargetsandclickAddHost.

3.）OntheHostandPlatformpage,dothefollowing:

∙Acceptthedefaultnameassignedforthissessionorenterauniquenameofyourchoice.Thecustomnameyouentercanbeanyintuitivename,andneednotnecessarilybeinthesameformatasthedefaultname.Forexample,add_host_operation_1.

∙Auniquedeploymentactivitynameenablesyoutosavetheinstallationdetailsspecifiedinthisdeploymentsessionandreusetheminthefuturewithouthavingtoenterallthedetailsalloveragaininthenewsession.

∙ClickAddtoenterthefullyqualifiednameandselecttheplatformofthehostonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheManagementAgent.

Note:

▪Oraclerecommendsyoutoenterthefullyqualifieddomainnameofthehost.Formonitoringpurpose,EnterpriseManagerCloudControladdsthathostandtheManagementAgentwiththeexactnameyouenterhere.

▪Youmustenteronlyonehostnameperrow.Enteringmultiplehostnamesseparatedbyacommaisnotsupported.

▪Youmustensurethatthehostnamedoesnotcontainunderscores（"_"）.

▪IftheplatformnameisappendedwithAgentSoftwareUnavailable,thenitindicatesthatthesoftwareforthatplatformisnotavailableontheOMShost,andthatyoumustdownloaditusingtheSelfUpdateconsole.Todoso,fromtheSetupmenu,selectExtensibility,andthen,clickSelfUpdate.

Alternatively,youcanclickeitherLoadfromFiletoaddhostnamesstoredinafile,orAddDiscoveredHoststoaddhostnamesfromalistofhostsdiscoveredbyEnterpriseManager.

4.OntheInstallationDetailspage,dothefollowing:

a.IntheDeploymentTypesection,selectFreshAgentInstall.

b.Fromthetable,selectthefirstrowthatindicatesthehostsgroupedbytheircommonplatformname.

c.IntheInstallationDetailssection,providetheinstallationdetailscommontothehostsselectedinStep4（b）.ForInstallationBaseDirectory,entertheabsolutepathtothebasedirectorywhereyouwantthesoftwarebinaries,securityfiles,andinventoryfilesofManagementAgenttobecopied.

Forexample,/usr/home/software/oracle/agentHome.

d.ForInstanceDirectory,acceptthedefaultinstancedirectorylocationorentertheabsolutepathtoadirectoryofyourchoicewhereallManagementAgent-relatedconfigurationfilescanbestored.

Oraclerecommendsyoutomaintaintheinstancedirectoryinsidetheinstallationbasedirectory.

e.FromNamedCredentiallist,selectanappropriateprofilewhosecredentialscanbeusedforsettinguptheSSHconnectivitybetweentheOMSandtheremotehosts,andforinstallingaManagementAgentoneachoftheremotehosts.

Note:

oIfyoudonothaveacredentialprofile,orifyouhaveonebutdonotseeitintheNamedCredentiallist,thenclicktheplusiconagainstthislist.IntheCreateNewNamedCredentialwindow,enterthecredentialsandstorethemwithanappropriateprofilenamesothatitcanbeselectedandusedforinstallingtheManagementAgents.AlsosettherunprivilegeifyouwanttoswitchoverfromtheNamedCredentialyouarecreating,toanotheruserwhohastheprivilegestoperformtheinstallation.

oIftheplusiconisdisabledagainstthislist,thenyoudonothavetheprivilegestocreateaprofilewithcredentials.Inthiscase,contactyouradministratorandeitherrequesthim/hertograntyoutheprivilegestocreateanewprofileorrequesthim/hertocreateaprofileandgrantyoutheaccesstoviewitintheNamedCredentiallist.

oIfyouhavemanuallysetuptheSSHconnectivitybetweentheOMSandtheremotehosts,thenyoumaynothaveapasswordforyouruseraccount.Inthiscase,createanamedcredentialwithadummypassword.DoNOTleavethepasswordfieldblank.

f.ForPrivilegedDelegationSetting,validatethePrivilegeDelegationsettingtobeusedforrunningtherootscripts.Bydefault,itissettothePrivilegeDelegationsettingconfiguredinEnterpriseManagerCloudControl.

Ifyouleavethisfieldblank,therootscriptswillnotberunbythewizard;youwillhavetorunthemmanuallyaftertheinstallation.

ThissettingwillalsobeusedforperformingtheinstallationastheusersetintheRunAsattributeoftheselectedNamedCredentialifyouhadsettheuserwhilecreatingthatNamedCredential.

Note:

InthePrivilegeDelegationsetting,the%RUNAS%ishonoredastherootuserforrunningtherootscriptsandastheusersetintheRunAsattributeoftheNamedCredentialforperformingtheinstallation.

g.ForPort,acceptthedefaultport（3872）thatisassignedfortheManagementAgenttocommunicate,orenteraportofyourchoice.Thecustomportyouentermustnotbebusy.Ifyouarenotsure,youcanleavethisfieldblank.EnterpriseManagerCloudControlautomaticallyassignsthefirstavailablefreeportwithintherangeof1830-1849.
