useful.
W:
That's all, Mr. Pitt.(4) You should hear from us in a couple of weeks. One way or the other,or we may ask you to come back for another chat. Thank

3. Why did Mr. Pitt think he could do overseas work?
4. What should Mr. Pitt do after this conversation?
【小题2】A

M:
And who's driving us to the meeting place?
W:
Well,(7) I was hoping we could take your car. Mine's in the shop again.
M:

W:

M:

1. What does the woman say about canoeing?
2. What will Tom do for everyone?
3. What do we know about the woman?
4. What can we know from the conversation?
【小题6】A

I think I've finally decided what to write in mypaper. It’sanewmuseumright near the CapitolBuilding in Washington D.C.
M:
Really?
I picked a museum too, a science museumupinAlberta,Canada. They look sort of likespaceship.
W:
Say, I read about that. It was built about 20 years ago and I think by the same architectwho designed the building I'm interested in. Douglas Cardinal.
M:
That's him!
But I can't imagine Cardinal designing anything in the traditional classical styleof the Capitol.
W:
Well, this new structure has to fit in with the architecture of the Capitol, but its style isanythingbuttraditional.Idon’tmeanthatit’soneofthosebigglass boxes they call modernarchitecturethough.Insteadofrectanglesandstraight lines, this building has rounded freeform shapes and sweeping curves. It's supposed to represent the natural forms like the Canyoncliffsinthewestern states, rock formations that were shaped by water and the wind.
M:
Sounds fantastic. But I wonder why that sort of style would be chosen for a building inWashington D.C.
W:
That's easy. This place is called National Museum of the American Indian. And it's devotedtoexhibitsofNativeAmericancultures, includingthoseof the west. And for Cardinal this is hisownfamilyheritagetoo.Andindesigning this museum he was careful to respect the variousNativeAmerican
values and traditions, like paying attentions to the directions of winds and theposition of the sun in different seasons of the year.
M:
Wow, an untraditional building, designed to showcase some of North American's oldesttraditions. Interesting!
1. What is the discussion mainly about?
2. What do the two museums mentioned in the conversation have in common?
3. What does the new building designed by Cardinal look like?
4. What kind of traditions
