Abstract:
TheresearchbackgroundandtechnicalfeaturesofBSFGD(Swirl-Jet-AbsorbingWetLimestone-gypsumSinteringFGDTechnology)processandequipmentswereintroducedhereindetail.Themaincontents,achievementsof
pilotexperiments,andengineeringpracticesofBSFGDwereanalyzedanddiscussedsystematically.Pastengineering
practiceexperiencesindicatethefactisthatthetechnologyhasthefollowingmerits,wideapplicabilitytosinteringfluegas
featuressuchastemperaturechangingfrequently,SO
concentrationbeingunstable,flowratefluctuatingintensively;highpollutantsremovalefficiency;lowinvestmentandenergyconsumption;stableandreliablerunning;utilizablebyproduct(gypsum)etc.IthasbeenprovedthatBSFGDhasthevalueofawiderangeofapplicationsforlargeandmedium-sizedsinteringmachinesfluegasdesulphurizationinthesteelindustry.

1Introduction

Accordingtotheproductioncharactersoflarge-scalesinteringmachine,consideringtheapplicationofdesulfurizeranddesulfurizingproductandtheactualconditionofcompany,wecontrastandanalyzethetechnologyofFGDusedinmarketwidelyanddeeply.Choosingwetlimestone-gypsumsinteringfluegasdesulfurizationasthebaseoftechnicalrouteandthenstartingtoresearchanddevelopthroughindustrialtestspointatthesinteringfluegasfeature,andfinally,andformedserialtechnologyandequipmentofBaosteelSwirl-Jet-AbsorbingWetLimestone-gypsumSinteringFGDwithownintellectualpropertyrights(ReferredtoasBaosteelSinteringfluegasdesulfurizationtechnology,andabbreviatedasBSFGD).
2.1Introductionofprocessflow
Fluegasflowfrommainsuctionfansofsintermachinesbepressurizedbyboosterfan,thenbecooledandpretreatedincoolingequipment,andthenperformthedesulfurizationreactioninSwirl-JetAbsorber,thepurifiedfluegasdischargefromchimneyonstandardafterdemisting.TheauxiliarysystemssuchaslimestoneslurrypreparationandgypsumdehydrationsystemarethesameasnormalwetFGDsystem,whicharematuretechniques.TheprocessflowdiagramofBSFGDisshowninFig.1.
2.2Technicalfeatures
2.2.1Baosteelswirl-jet-absorbingwetlimestone-gypsumsinteringFGDtechnology
Uselimestonepowders(250meshes)asdesulfurizingagent,Ca/Sisequalto1.01to1.03,andthecostofdesulfurizerislow.TheFGDsystemrunsteadilyandsafely,over95%synchronousoperationratewithsinteringmachine.Thedesulphurizationefficiencyisgreaterthan90%,theexhaustconcentrationofSO
anddustislessthan100and50mg/m
separately,andtheremovalefficiencyofSO
HClandHFwillbegreaterthanorequalto50%,80%and90%separately.Thegypsumisgoodenoughtomeettherequirementsofusingasresources,inwhichthecontentofCaSO

Oisover90%,thecontentofmoistureisbelow10%,thepHvalueis6-8.Itshowsexcellenteconomicsthattheinvestmentandoperationcostis70%-80%tothecostofothersinteringfluegasdesulfurizationtechnology.
2.2.2Coolingdeviceforpretreatment
Acoolingdeviceaspretreatmentwassetbeforetheabsorbingtowertoovercomethedifficultytocooldownthefluegaswhosetemperaturefluctuatedseriouslyandfrequently,maintainthesafetyofabsorbingtowerandprovidethebesttemperaturefordesulphurizationreaction.Thiscomponentwashelpfultoprotectthegas-gasheater(GGH)fromblockingintraditionalFGDtechnologyandtopromotethecoolingefficiencyoffluegas.Theheavymetals,alkalimetalsandapartofdustinfluegaswereremovedbythedevice,whichwasusefultorestraintheblockingproblemandscaleformationintheabsorbingtowerandimprovethequalityofgypsum.Furthermore,mostHFandHClinfluegaswereremovedbythedevice,whichcanpreventerodingforthematerialofabsorbingtowerandothersubsequentdevices.
2.2.3Swirl-jet-absorbingtower
Thereactioncontainerwasdesignedtobetheswirl-jetabsorberonthebasisofaerodynamicsknowledge.Thelimestoneslurryintheabsorberperformedascontinuousphase,thefluegaswaseruptedfromSwirl-Jetdeviceandseparatedintofinebubblesintheabsorber,asdispersionphase.Thenthegasandthelimestoneslurryreactedthoroughlywithhighmasstransferefficiency.ThisprocesscankeepthesystemstablewhenviolentfluctuationoffluegasflowrateandSO
concentration,withhighdesulphurizationanddedustingefficiency.Inthisprocess,theabsorbingreactioncanbecompletedinonecycle,sothatthelimestoneslurrydon’tneedtoberepeatedlycycled,whichcanlowertheenergyconsumption,Furthermore,theproductsofgypsumwerewell-crystallized,largerparticlesize,andutilizable.
2.2.4Integrateddemister
Theexpansivespaceinthetopoftheabsorber,whichisempty,combinedwiththeexternaldemistertocomposeintegrateddemister,whichisgoodforeliminatingthemoistureinthefluegas.
3TechnicalDevelopmentsinPilotExperimentandEngineeringPractice
3.1Deviceforpilotexperiments

3.2Researchcontentinpilotexperimentandengineeringpractice
(1)Throughexperimentalstudyoneveryinfluencingfactorsofdesulphurizationefficiency,foundoutthemainfactorsandessentialstoensureFGDsystemrunningcontinuallyandsteadilyinthelongterm,madethedebugging-programsoflarge-scaleFGDproject,anddevelopedcompletesetofrules,specificationrequirements,andstandardsforBSFGD,etc.
(2)Byexperimentalinvestigationonavarietyofswirl-jetdevicesandcoolingpre-treatingmethods,wehaveobtainedthebestconfigurationanddesignparametersofprocessingparametersandkeyequipments,andestablishedthethermodynamicanddynamiccalculationmodelsofFGDsystem.
(3)Throughlong-termexperimentatpilotplant,searchanddiscoverlawsandsolutionstovariousproblemsthatmayoccurinsinteringfluegasdesulfurizationprocess,suchasclogging,deposition,etc.Developcontrolprogramsoflarge-scaleFGDproject,suchasthekeyparameters,instrumentconfiguration.
(4)Inresponsetothetechnicalrequirementsthatthesurfaceofslurrytankmustbesteady,carryoutexperimentsonside-entryslurryagitationandoxidationairdistribution,setuprelevantmodels,findoutvariouskindsofcontrolparameterlaws,developcompletesettechnologyofslurryagitationandforcedoxidation.
(5)Carryoutantisepticsexperimentsofover100testpiecesateveryrepresentativesite,providethebasisforantisepticsselection,developseveralspecial-purposeantisepticscalyclayssuitabletosinteringFGD,andacompletesetofantisepticprogramofsinteringFGDproject.
(6)Developsuchseriessetsofmanufacturing,processingandinstallingtechnologyofsinteringfluegasdesulfurizationsystem,andprovidetechnicalguidance.
(7)ExperimentalstudyonEmergencyPreparednessforemergencysituations,developrelevantemergencypreplanstechnicalregulation.
(8)ResearchontheutilizationofSinteringFGDgypsum,suchasaddingtosteelslagpowderorslagpowdertosubstituteforcementdirectly,andachievedsignificantresults.
(9)ResearchandanalyzethecharacteristicsofsinteringFGDwastewater,developwastewatertreatmentandreusetechnology,proposewastewatertreatmenttechnologyandprogram.
(10)Feasibilitystudyprogram,preliminarydesign,anddesignschemeshavebeenmadeforthreetypicallarge-typesinteringFGDprojectsinthewholemetallurgicalindustry,whichhavewithdifferentfluegasflowratesanddifferentcharacteristics.
4EngineeringApplications
Byexperts'evaluation,BaosteeldecidedtoputtheresultsofBSFGDresearchintopracticalapplication.Basedonunifiedplan,theBSFGR&DTeamofBaosteelResearchInstitutewasresponsibleforthecompletionoftechnicalassembly,andsupportedcomprehensivetechnicalguidanceandsupportforlayoutofplant,configurationandmanufactureofequipments,heartsystemconstruction,debugging,andoperating,etc.
