1.3ConstructionandMethodofOperation
(seeFig.1)
Thedrivechangestherotarymotion,inducedby
thedrivemotor,intoanoscillating(reciprocating)
movement.Thestokelengthcanbechanged
steplesslyfromzeroto20mm.Thestokefrequency
dependsonthemotorspeedandonthereductionratio
oftheintergralwormgear.Thedriveworksonthe
varilableeccentricprinciple.Thewormshaft(9),
whichiscoupledtothedrivemotor,transmitsthe
rotarymotionviawormwheel(3)andhollowshaft
(2)directlytotheeccentric(7).Thelatteractuates
plunger(28)viaconnectingrod(10).Adjustment
ofplungerstrokeisachievedbytruningthe
handwheel(21).Theadjustingspindle(57)and
theslidingshaft(50)arethusdisplacedaxially.
Thismovementisconvertedviatheskewslotin
theslidingshaft(50)intoaradialdisplacementof
theeccentric(7),i.e.intoachangeintheextent
ofitseccentricity.Thestrokecanbealteredwith
thepumpstoppedorrunning.Thereisalinear
relationshipbetweentheamountofadjustmentandstokelength.
Mutilplepumpscanbemadeupbylinkinganumber
ofsingledrivesinline.Thewormshaftsofthe
individualdrivesarethenfastenedtogetherby
kecouplings.Adjustmentoftheeccentric
displacementisdescribedin7.2.Thedrivescanrun
indifferentstrokefrequenciesdifferentindividual
reductionratiosarechosen.

4.1OperationalArrangements
Driveswithmanualadjustment:
thestrokelength
canbeadjusted,withthepumprunningorstopped,
bymeansofthehandwheelandreadoffonthe
scale.Clockwiserotationincreasesthestroke.The
meteredflowat20mmstrokeisshowninthe
technicaldatasheet.Formeteredflowatanyother
strokesettingpleaserefertosect.4.6inthe
operatinginstructionB0.100.

7.1.1Unscrewthescrewedplug(40),locatedatthelowestendofthedriveelement,anddrainoffoil.Pleasemakesuitableprovisionsforcatchingoil.
7.1.2Ifrequireddisconnectmotorandtakeitoff.Removedrivecouplingandendcover.
7.1.3Takeoffpumphead(inaccordancewithoperatinginstructions“pumphead”).Unscrewthe(36)andremovetheplungerfromthepistonrodassembly.
7.1.4Unscrewallenscrews(30)andpulloffpistonrodguide(26)inaforwarddirection.
7.1.5Removelever(46)byturningitccw.

7.1.14Unscrewgrubscrew(8)completely.Turnwormshaft(19)untilshoulderedbolt(6)becomesaccessible.Thisisthentappedthoughabit,usingasoftmetaldrift.Twistwormshaft(19)againuntilwormwheelhasturnedthroughapprox.180deg.Theshoulderedbolt(6)canbepulledoutquiteasily.Adjustingspindle(57)andslidingshaft(50)areremovedtogetherinanupwarddirection.(seefig.5)
Forfurtherdismantlingremovehexagonalnut(58)andunscrewadjustingspindle(57).Afterallenscrew(56)hasbeenunscrewedthecompletebearingcanbetakenout.
7.1.15Shifteccentric(7)axiallyandremove.
7.1.16Removeshaftseal(12).Itwillgetdamagedtheprocessandmustthereforebereplaced.
7.1.17Removelock-ring(13)(righthandsidewhen
lookingatthepumpheadorlowersideincaseof

7.1.18Drainoilaspersect.7.1.1Disconnectmotorandremove.
Removedrivecouplingandendcover.
Fartherstrippingasper7.1.3–7.1.9.and7.1.12–7.1.13.
7.1.19Takeoutradialsealingring(12).Itwillbedestroyedintheprocessandmustthereforeberenewed.Removelock-ring(13)(righthandsidewhenlookingatthepumpheadorlowersideincaseofverticalmotor)andbushthroughwormshaft(19)carefullyusingasoftpunch.Younowcanremovethecompleteadjustment.
7.2Assembly
Theassemblybasicallyproceedsinthereversesequencetodismantling.Butthefollowingpointsshouldbepaidattentionto:
7.2.1Ontighteninghexagonalnut(58)pleasemakesurethattheadjustingspindle(57)willturneasily,yetwithoutplay.
7.2.2Thetighteningtorqueof20Nmforthesocketheadedscrew(56)mustbeadheredto.
AttentionWerecommendthattheallenscrew(56)isadditionallysecuredbyathreadlockingvarnish(threadtobecoatedbeforeassembly).
7.2.3Ifwormshaft(19)andwormwheel(3)
havebeenstripped(19)andexchanged,thelocationofwormwheel(3)relativetowormshaft(19)mustbesetupagain.Otherwiseyoucanjustusethesamewashers(5)again.Thusonemakessurethatthepositionofwheelrelativetowormremainsunchanged.
Adjustmentofwormshaft(19)andwormwheel(3)
Firstthoroughlycleanwormwheel(3)andwormshaft(19)inacleaningsolventorsimilar.Thenthinlycoatthewormshaft(19)withmarkinginkandassembleit.Rotatethewormshaftseveraltimesandtheninspectthecontacttraceonthewormwheel.Fig.6showsinwhichdirectionthewormwheelcanbeshiftedbyaddingorremovingwashers(5).
7.2.4Theassemblypositionofeccentric(7)andslidingshaft(50)mustbeexactlyaspersectionaldrawingorfig.7.
7.2.5Theamountofclearance(0.05–0.15mm)betweeneccentric(7)andwasher(17)canbeassessedbymeansofafeelergaugeand,ifnecessary,adjustedbymeansofwashers(18).
7.2.6Beforeallenscrews(29)aretightened,circlip(69)mustbere_fitted.
7.2.7Shiftingoftheeccentricsformultiplepumps.
Onlyrequiredwhen,inthecaseofmultiplepumps,
Alloratleasttwodrivingunitshavethesamegearratio.
Firstarrangeforallplungerrodsoftheindividualdriveunitstobeinthefrontdeadcenterpositionatfullstroke.
Theplungerrod(28)willnowprojectfromthedriveunitelementbythemaximumamount.Checkthiswiththehelpofadialgauge.Onemeasuresthemovementoftheplungerrod(28)ismeasuredwhilstturningthewormshaft(19).
Ifauniformshiftingoftheeccentricsischosen,
turnthewormshaftsoftheindividualdriveunitsasshowninthetablebelow.
Engagedriveunitsatthecouplings,andbolttogether.
1)noofdriveelementswiththesamewormreduction.
2)continuetoturnshaftby“z”no.ofcoupling
teethinthesamedirection.
