IvanDoudkaisascientistattheTechnicalUniversityofDenmark,orDTU.Heexplainedthatthekitworksbyusingasmartphoneapptoanalyzeabloodsamplefromthepatient.Tocreatethesample,thepatient'sredbloodcellsneedtofirstbeseparated,whichisdonebyusingacentrifuge.After30minutes,thesampleisplacedintoaclearcontainercalledacuvette.Thecuvetteisusedwithamachinewhichanalyzestheliquidbymeasuringtheamountoflightthatisabsorbedbyit.Connectingthemachinetoasmartphone,asmartphoneappcanshowtheresultswhichidentifythetypeofsnakeandsuggestthemosteffectiveanti-venom.
