WhenmyfatherrefusedtounderstandthatIneededtheprivacyofaphoneinmyroom,myfrustrationturnedtotears.WhenhesensedthatIwasgainingtheupperhandindefendingmycaseforwearinglipglosstoschoolinjuniorhigh,heendedour“discussion”,leavingmesilentlydefeatedandmiserable.SowhenherefusedtochangehisideaaboutlettingmegoonmyseniorclasstriptoMontreal,Icoulddonothingbutracefromhisroomindespair.IfIcouldn’tgethimtolistentomysideofourarguments,maybeIcouldgethimtoreadit.
