Principle
ActiveCross-FlowMembraneSeparationUnitconsistsofflatsheetultrafiltration/microfiltrationmembranemodules,aprogram-controlledrotatingwheelaxle,built-inpermeatewatercollectionsystemandreactorchamber.Themembranemodulesinstalledonthewheelaxlemoveinthereactorchamberwiththeprogram-controlledrotatingwheelaxle.Theshearforce,centrifugationforce,andturbulencealongthemembranesurfacebenefittoefficientlyremovecakelayersandmaintainconstantpermeateflux.Theunitdisplaysadvantagessuchaseasyoperationandmaintenance,excellenttreatmentefficiencyandlowenergyconsumption.Theunitissuitabletobothaerobicandanaerobicwatertreatmentprocesses,especiallyforindustrialwastewaters.

Industrialcirculatingcoolingwatertreatmentunit
Alargeamountofwaterisrequiredforindustrialcirculatingcoolingandcentralair-condition coolingsystems.Ontheotherhand,generalproblemssuchascorrosion,scalingand biofoulingoften occurduring the systemoperation.Tomaintainheattransferefficiencyandtoextendlifespanofthesystem,eitherchemicalreagentsareaddedtocoolingwaterorphysicalapproachessuchasmembranefiltration,electrostatictreatment andelectric de-scalingareemployedtoinhibitscaling,biofouling andcorrosion.Asawater-savingandenvironment-friendlysystem,externalmembranefiltrationiswidelyused.Only1~5%ofcirculatingwaterquantityneedstobetreatedinordertoachievebetter-qualitycoolingwater.
MOHAIdevelopsanovelindustrialcirculatingcoolingwatertreatmentunitbasedontheactivecross-flowmembranefiltrationtechnique.Theflat-sheetPTFE(0.1μm)membraneisused.TheunitisinstalledexternaltocoolingtowertoremoveSS,rust,scale,colloids,bacteria,algae,colorsubstancesfromcoolingwater.

Principle
Decentralizeddrinkingwatersupplysystemisimportantfortheresidentsintheruralareas.Membraneseparationnotonlyefficientlyremovessuspendedsolids,colloids,andgreater-sizemolecules,butalsorejectsbacteria,pathogen,andalgae,therefore,providingapossibilitytoproducesafedrinkingwater.However,currentmembrane-baseddrinkingwatertreatmentsystemsufferstheproblemssuchasmembranefouling,requirementofpretreatment,anduneasyoperation.
MOHAIdevelopsanintegratedultrafiltration-UVunitfordrinkingwatertreatmentbasedontheactivecross-flowmembranefiltrationtechnique.PESflatsheetmembrane(poresizeof0.04μm)modulesareusedinthisunit.Theprocessdoesnotneedanypre-filtrationandthequalityoftheeffluentreachesthenationaldrinkingwaterstandard.Itisverysuitabletosupplydrinkingwaterforrural,fieldworkandotherareaswhicharefarawayfromthecentralizedwatersupplysystemarea.
