Seoul’sLeeTae-hongsaysrecyclingisalsoasecuritymatterinthedigitalage.
“Ifdeviceslikephonesarenotrecycled,thentheycouldillegallyendupinothercountrieslikeChinaorinSoutheastAsia,andpersonaldatacouldbestolen,”hesaid.
Eventhoughrecyclingcenterslikethislimittheamountoflandfill-boundelectronics,itisnotenough,accordingtosomeenvironmentalwatchdoggroups.
Digitally-savvySouthKoreanskeepbuyingmoregadgets.Intheend,someestimatethatabout21percentofthecountry’stotale-wasteactuallygetsproperlyrecycled.

TheUnitedStatesdemandsanendtoimpunityforthosewhouseviolencetosilencetheircriticsanddemandsanswersonbehalfofallthejournalistsandtheirfamilieswhostillhavenotseenjusticeserved.Moreover,theUnitedStatescallsonallpartiestotheSyrianconflicttoprotectjournalistsinSyriaanditsneighbors.Aboveall,saidSecretaryKerry,"Westandinaweofthecourageofthosewhorisktheirlivestotellthestoriestheworldneedstohear."
