tourismcouldmakeapositivecontribution.Firstlyitcouldhelpprotectsensitivelocationsfromover-tourism.In
recentyearsfamoussitessuchasMayaBayinThailand,andCambodia'sAngkorWatTempleshavehadtolimit
thenumberofvisitorsbecauseoftheirnegativeimpact.TheseplacesarenowproducingtheirownVRexperiences
thatwillallowtouriststopassthroughvirtualmodelsofthesites.
Virtualrealitymayalsoallowpeoplebackintime,toexperiencehistoricalevents,visitancientcities,and
eventowalkamongdinosaurs.
Finally,inaworldwheremanypeoplesufferfromstressanddepressionduetooverwork,virtualtourism
mayprovideacheapandconvenientwayforpeopletotakebriefholidaystootherwiseunreachabledestinations
andrechargetheirbatteries,withouteverleavingtheirhomes.
