1.0GENERAL
1.1Intent
ThisengineeringspecificationcontainsspecificrequirementsfortheselectionofpipingmaterialsusedinChangshuCoatexAdditiveCo.,LtdHighPerformanceEmulsionSystemProject.
1.2Scope
ThisspecificationshallbeappliedtopipingmaterialsindicatedonP&IDflowdiagramsandutilityflowdiagramspipingsystems.ThespecificationofpipingsystemsprovidedbymanufacturershouldbeapprovedbyMaisonWorleyParsons.
1.3Codesandstandards
Design,fabrication,testingandinspectionofpipingmaterialsshallbeaccomplishedinaccordancewiththeapplicableCodesandStandardsinthelatesteditionasfollows:

2.0MATERIALS
2.1StandardMaterials
2.1.1MaterialforindividualpipingcomponentsshallnormallyconformtotherequirementsofGB,HGstandardetc.Whenmaterialsarenotcoveredbythelocalstandards,equivalentASME,ASTM,API,MSS,BSormanufacturer’sstandardmaybeused.
2.1.2Allcarbonandlowtemperaturecarbonsteelgradesofpipematerialshallhaveamaximumcarboncontentof0.25%andamaximumcarbonequivalentof0.45basedonthefollowingformula:
2.1.3Allcarbonsteelshallbesuppliedwithkilledsteel.Theuseofrimmingsteelisnotpermitted.Allcarbonsteelmaterialshallbesuppliedinnormalizedfinishcondition.AnalternativeheattreatedconditionshallbesubmittedtoPurchaserforapproval
2.1.4Allausteniticstainlesssteelshallbesuppliedinasolutionannealedcondition.Noweldingorworkingofthematerialispermittedafterthistreatmentintheshop.Allweldsmadetostainlesssteelcomponentsshallbepickledandpassivated.
2.1.5Galvanizingpipewhenspecifiedshallbehotdipped.TheminimumweightofaveragecoatingshallbeaccordingtoGB/T3091.
2.2Asbestos
Asbestosshallnotbeusedintheplantinanyform.
3.0GENERALREQUIREMENTS
3.1General
Asarule,theprincipaldimensionsofpipingcomponents,whicharedesignatedinPipingMaterialClassification,shallbeinaccordancewithapplicablestandard.
3.2Pipes
3.2.1Dimensionsofpipesshallbeinaccordancewiththefollowingtableexceptotherwisenoted.

3.2.2DN10(NPS3/8),32(NPS1¼),65(NPS2½),NPS3½,125(NPS5)andDN550(NPS22)shallnotbeused.However,incaseswheretheuseofthesesizescannotbeavoided,therequiredpipingmaterial,fittings,flanges,valvesandgasketsshallbethesamematerialasnextlargersizesintheapplicablepipingclass.

3.3Valves
3.3.1Allvalvesshallbeprotectivecoatedinaccordancewithvendor’sstandard.
3.3.2Anyexposed(unpainted)carbonsteelparts/surfacesshallbegivenaheavycoating.Internalmetalsurfacesshallbesprayedorcoatedwithsimilarsuitablerustpreventative.
3,3,3Valveendsshallbesuitablyprotectedagainstdamageandtheingressofforeignmatter.Endsshallbeprotectedasbelow:
a)Socketweldandplainendsshallbeclosedwithmetalorplasticprotectorsthatfiteitherinsideoroutsidethevalveends.
b)Threadedendsshallbefittedwithplasticplugs/caps
c)Flangedendsshallbeprotectedbyplastic(preferred),orwoodcovers,securelyheldinplacebyaminimumoffourbolts/inserts.Gasketcontactsurfacesshallbeprotectedtoensureserrationsarenotdamagedintransitorstorage.
3.3.4Allvalvesshallbemarked/taggedwith(asaminimum)theprojecttagand/orcodenumberinadditionaltoinformationrequiredbytheapplicabledesignstandard.Fullmarkingrequirementswillbestatedwithintheenquiry.
3.3.5Allvalvesexceptgatevalvehavingapreferreddirectionofflowshallbemarkedwithanarrowcastonthevalvebody.
3.3.6Endandbonnetflangesshallbecastorforgedintegrallywiththevalvebody.Incaseofconversionofbuttweldendvalvestoflangebyweldingonflangesisacceptableonlywithadditionheattreatment(ifrequired)and100%RTandsubjecttoPURCHASERpriorreviewandapproval.
3.3.7Valvesspecifiedasneedingtobe‘firesafe’shallhavebeentestedandcertifiedashavingmettherequirementsofAPI607.ThisFireSaferequirementshallbeapplicabletosoftseatedvalvesonly.
3.3.8VendorshallnotmodifyanexistingvalvetobringintoconformancewithdatasheetrequirementswithoutwrittenapprovalofthePurchaser.Examplesofmodificationsareasfollows:
(a)Additionofextendedbonnet(gascolumn)toastandardvalve.
(b)Insertingresilientseats.
(c)Revisingtrim.
(d)Modifyingflangedendvalvestobuttweldend(machiningoffflanges).
(e)Changingboltingand/orpacking.
(f)Weldrepairtocastingsandanysubsequentheattreatment.
(g)Modifyingabuttweldendvalvetothreadedorsocketweldends.
(h)Modifyingathreadedendvalvetosocketweldends.
3.3.9Unlessspecifiedotherwise,allausteniticstainlesssteelmaterialsshallbefurnishedinasolutionannealedcondition.Approvedrepairs,ifany,shallbemadepriortosolutionannealing.
3.3.10Metallicandnon-metallicbonnetandcovergasketsshallhavecorrosionresistanceequal(orbetter)thanthatofthebodyandbonnetmaterials.
3.3.11Anyoptionalbackseat,lowpressureclosureorhighpressureclosuretestshallbeclearlyidentifiedonthevalvedatasheet(withrelevanttestpressure/temperature).Vendorshallincludealladditionalcostsforthesetests.
3.3.12Allpressuretestingofausteniticstainlesssteelvalvesshallbecarriedoutwithwaterhavingamaximumof65ppmchloridecontent.
3.3.13Eachwrenchoperatedballvalvesshallbefurnishedwithawrench.

3.5.3Longradiuselbowsshallbeused.Shortradiuselbowsmaybeusedonlywherespacelimitstheuseoflongradiuselbows.
3.5.4Branchconnectionsforindividualpipingclassesshallbemadeinaccordancewithbranchconnectiontableofindividualpipingclass.
3.5.5Pipeplugshallbesquareheadtype.
