In1870,MarkTwaingotmarried.IntheyearsthatfollowedhewrotemanybooksincludingTomSawyerin1876,andHuckleberryFinnin1884,whichmadehimfamous,andbroughthimgreatfortune.Unfortunately,MarkTwaingotintodebtsinbadinvestments(投资)andhehadtowritelargenumbersofstoriestopaythesedebts.In1904,hiswifedied,andthenthreeofhischildrenpassedaway.Attheageof70,hishairwascompletelywhite.Heboughtmanywhitesuitsandneckties.HeworenothingbutwhitefromheadtofootuntilhisdeathonApril21,1910.
