SOLUTION:
Intheintermediateand/orfinalstageofapolycondensationreactionforpreparingapolylacticacidfromalacticacidmonomer,polycondensationreactioniscarriedoutwhilecarryingoutacycleprocesswhereinwater,alactideandasolventgeneratedinareactiontank1arepassedthroughareflexpipe2andadesiccant-filledcolumn8usingacarriergasinactiveagainstthesetoremoveonlythewaterandwhereintherestarereturnedtothereactiontank1.

Toindustriallyadvantageouslyobtainapolylacticacidhavingahighmolecularweight,capableofresolvingproblemssuchasalimitofstirringviscosity,polymerattachmenttoastirringwingandaloweringofmolecularweightbyre-heatingafterasolidstatepolymerization,bystirringtheinsideofareactiontankwithatwin-screwtypestirrer,inameltpolymerizationofalacticacidmonomerandasolidstatepolymerizationoftheobtainedpolylacticacid.
SOLUTION:
Thisproductionofpolylacticacidisconductedbychargingalacticacidmonomerinareactiontank,refluxingwater,alactide,apolylacticacidoligomerandoccasionallyasolventgeneratedfromthereactiontankandperformingameltpolymerizationwhileremovingwatertooutsideofthereactionsystem,thensubjectingtheresultantpolylacticacidtoasolidpolymerizationatatemperaturelowerthanitsmeltingpoint.Atthistime,thestirringinthereactiontankisperformedbyusingatwinscrew-typestirrer.Preferably,thestirrerisprovidedinastatethatthetwoscrewsareengagedwitheachother.Furthermore,theoneinwhichboththetwoscrewsareindipendentlyrotatableispreferable.Otherwise,thescrewispreferablyare-integratablesegmenttype.
