OliverTwistwasDickens’secondnovel,whichmarkedthebeginningofDickens’literarylife.Itconcentratesonthehardyearsofanorphan,OliverTwist,whowasagainstthecriminalworldofLondon.Itisthefirstnovelthatreadersareledtoaverysadworld.TheheroofthisnovelwasOliverTwist,anorphan,whilereadingthetragicexperiencesofthelittleOliver;hewasthrownintoaworldfullofpovertyandcrime.Hesufferedbigpain,suchashunger,thirst,beating;Iwasshockedbyhissufferings.Ifeltsorryforthepoorboy,butatthesametimeIdetestedtheevilFaginandthebrutalBill.Tomyrelief,aswaswritteninallthebeststories,thegoodnesseventuallyconqueredevilandOliverlivedahappylifeattheend.Oneoftheplotsthatattractedmemostisthataftertheberry,littleOliverwasallowedtorecoverinthekindcareofMrs.MaylieandRoseandbegananewlife.Hewentforwalkswiththem,orRosereadtohim,andheworkedhardathislessons.Hefeltasifhehadleftbehindforevertheworldofcrimeandhardshipandpoverty.

2.1HisKindnesstothePoor
Inthelifeofhisworkinginthecoffinshop,heexpressedsympathytothepoorwhoweremoremisfortunethanhim.Forexample,”Amanandanoldwomanstoodnearthebody,Oliverwasafraidtokookatthem.”whydidOliverdon’twanttoseethem?
That’sbecausehewastookindtohavethehearttothepoor.Eventhoughheknewhimselfalsowasapoorboy,that’snotthereasonthathedidn’tcareabouttheotherpoor,butwhydidhedolikethat?
Hecouldn’tofferthemmoney,afterall,hewaspoortoo,andhealsocouldn’tgivethemencouragement.Becausetheydidn’tneedthat,soallhecoulddowasfeelingsorrytothem,:

2.2HisKindnesstotheThieves
WeknowthatintheLondonwiththethieves,thoughtheywerevicious,Oliveralsoexpressedkindnesstothem,thefirstone,Faginwasdeceitful,hedidn’tbelieveinanybody.hetreattheotherthievesfiercely,thatcouldbeseenfromthescene:
”helookedatthejewelrywithpleasure,thenreplacedthemwhatagoodthinghangingis.hemurmured,’deadmancannevertalkorbetrayoldfriends,’sobadaman,henotonlyfeltsadforhiscompanions,butalsoafraidthattheotherthievesmightbetraytohim,theywereallworkedforhim,andtheywereonlychildren.TheanotherscenethatFaginevengetveryangrytoDodgerandcharleyBates,heevenknockedthembothdownthestairsandsentthemtobedwithnodinner,becausetheyhadreturnedwithnothing.healsotreatbadtoOliverwhenOliverwascaughttoFagin’shouseagain,Faginpickedupalongpieceofwood,hehitOliverhardontheshoulderswithstick,eventhoughhewassobad,Oliveralsokeepakindattitudetohim.WhenFaginwasintheprison,Oliverevenwenttoseehim,hesaid“yes,Willyoupraywithme?
