ItwasMichelBrealwhointroducedthisphraseattheclosingdinnerofthecongressforthereestablishmentofthemodernOlympicGamesonJune23,1894.Later,theInternationalOlympicCommitteeformallyadoptedthisphraseastheofficialmottooftheGames.
