●教学目标
本课时主要是通过学生对学案所给出的内容的学习,了解本课文中所出现的词汇,初步了解课文以及相关的背景知识,对下一堂课全面理解课文起到一个铺垫作用。
●教学地位
本单元主要讲的是英语的发展和英语的种类。
学生作为英语学习的学习者,有必要较为深刻地了解英语语言的相关信息,减少学生在英语学习中的一些障碍,所以说本单元在书中有非常重要的地位。

可以通过下面两种不同类型的活动热身,根据教学实际选择使用。
