[Abstract]Readingisoneofthefourbasicskillswhichlearnersarerequiredtomasteriftheywanttolearnaforeignlanguage.Englishreadingcanimprovereader’sperceptionsoastogivealotofhelptoimprovelistening,speakingandwriting.Readingcanexpandourvocabulary,enrichthelanguageknowledgeandtoimprovetheirabilitytouselanguage.Italsocanincreaseknowledge,widentheirvisions,andenhancetheirinterestinEnglish.Thispaperclearlystateshowweshouldimprovereadingabilitybyadoptingthefollowingmethods:
improvinglanguageknowledge,enlargingthereader’sschema,formingagoodhabitofreading,applyingreadingskills,beconfidentandactiveinreading.

[摘要]阅读是理解和吸收书面信息的能力,也是间接交流的重要途径。
现代媒体虽然已经十分发达,但是书刊仍是知识的重要载体,阅读也仍然是人们获取知识的基本方式。
阅读是外语学习者要求掌握的四种基本技能之一,英语阅读能提高读者的认识能力,从而促进了英语的听、说和写的能力的提高。
培养阅读能力有助于扩大词汇量,丰富语言知识,提高语言的运用能力,是大面积提高学生英语水平的关键。
阅读也能使人增长见识,拓宽视野,还能提高学习者对英语的兴趣,所以提高英语的阅读水平成了英语学习者的一个十分重要任务。
既然阅读在我们日常生活中如此重要,那么我们就应该重视培养阅读能力。
掌握提高阅读能力的方法就显得尤为重要了。
我想在本文中就我们该如何增长语言知识和积极主动地去阅读以及如何通过预测、找中心句、略读和猜测词义等几种阅读技巧浅谈一下提高学生英语阅读能力的方法。
如果掌握了一定的阅读方法,那么阅读能力也会有显著的提高,特别是学生的英语成绩的提高更依赖于阅读能力的提高。
