Unit Three Weather
单 元 教 材 分 析
本单元围绕 Weather 展开教育教学,教学内容和学生的生活有着密切联系。
本单元内容分为主情境图,A、B 和 C 四个部分。
主情景图主要融合不同天气的情景,
集中概括出本单元的重点语言知识。
学生通过对本单元的学习,能够用本单元所学的句型
与单词进行有关天气的熟练对话。
主要学习 cool, cold, hot, warm, raining, cloudy, snowy,
sunny, windy 等描述天气的形容词,句型What’s the weather like in … ?
It’s
cold/warm/hot/cold/…,对天气特征进行描述,并进行有关天气的熟练对话。
能够在情
境中运用句型 What’s the weather…?
询问某地天气怎么样;Can I go outside now?
Yes,
you can. No, you can’t. 询问并回答可否外出。
AB 部分中的 Let’s learn 为有关天气的单词和句型的学习;Let’s talk 为交际对话要
求学生能够对天气进行简单的描述;Let’s play 为基础的单词和句型的运用;Let’s spell
为语音的学习,让学生感知并归纳 ar 和 al 的发音规则的单词;Read and write, Let’s
check 和 Story time 是综合知识的运用,而且还通过 Let’s sing 和 Let’s chant 来活跃
课堂气氛。
在教学中,围绕询问某地的天气这一主题,设计一系列的教学活动。
天气与人们的日常生活紧密相关,在教学中,教师要注意利用已学的知识来引出新知
识,利用地图并收集有关天气的图片,单词卡片等来传授知识,多创设一些真实的情景,
让学生在情景中体会到语言学习的实用性。
教师应适当拓展学生的知识面,告诉学生生
活小常识,教育学生注意天气变化,关爱自己和他人。

Step 1 Warming up & Revision

2. Show the main scene (4 cities Harbin, Beijing, Lhasa, and Hong
Kong for 4 teams) & declare the rules of match. (The one who
does well will get one sticker for their city.)
3. Talk and discuss.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Show a picture of a report. T:

the board. Practice the word hot with a Gesture game group by
group.
4. Present the word cold. Show Chen Jie on the screen who is in
Harbin and ask What’s the weather like in Harbin?

5. Have Ss watch the flash video and try to imitate the reporter.

Practice the word warm with a Clapping Hands game
6. Present the word cool in the same way. Practice the word by
playing a game Little Cop.
7. Read and spell the words together. T stresses the method of
dividing the words in several parts according to the phonics.
8. Look and say.
9. Have several minutes for Ss to memorize all the new words.
10. Have Ss imitate a weather reporter to make the weather report
by using the key sentences in this lesson.Good morning. This is
the weather report. It’s …in….And judge which one is the best.
11.Watch the video of Let’s chant.Focus on the difficult words like
outside, inside, put on, take off, feel.

3. Watch the video with the following questions.

4. Ask some individuals to answer the questions with the sentences
from the text.
5. Check the answers after watching.
6. Ask some little Ts to read the dialogue sentence by sentence,
others read after them.
7. Play in roles between T & Ss, Bs & Gs, free talk and perform at
the front.
8. Do actions according to the dialogue.
9. Have the Ss read and recite the dialogue according to their
understanding.
Step 3 Extensions &Summary
1. Invite some groups of the Ss to act the dialogue out by wearing
the headwears.
2. Take notes about the key points in this dialogue and ask some
individuals to explain to the class.
3. Do exercises.
A. Put the sentences in right order and make the correct
dialogues.
B. Correct the mistakes.

Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Review the sound of ir & ur/ ar & al. Show some words on the
screen. Ask Ss to find out the words according to Ts sounds. Help
the Ss choose and then check some individuals.
2. Practice the sounds.
A. Listen and judge the sounds what I said.
B. Listen and spell the words out according to my words.
3. According to the sounds, help Ss to spell out the words with ar /
al in. Show the words on the board and lead Ss to read and say.
4. Help Ss to learn the sounds of ar / al and distinguish the symbols
by themselves as possible as they can.
5. Let’s spell.
A. Read, listen and chant. Open the books to Page 25, ask the Ss
to listen and repeat. At last, chant it together.
B. Read, listen and number. According to the exercises on Page
25. Listen and number the words by themselves. Then check
some individuals. At last, say them together.
C. Look, listen and write. According to the pictures on Page 25, ask
the Ss to listen and write down the words.
