Abstract
Thispaperpresentsourworkonmethodstolinkvirtualenvironments(VE)andquantitativeergonomicanalysistoolsinrealtimeforoccupationalergonomicstudies.Wepursuedtwodistinctapproaches:
(a)createmethodstointegratetheVEwithcommerciallyavailableergonomicanalysistoolsforasynergisticuseoffunctionalitiesandcapabilities;(b)createabuilt-inergonomicanalysismoduleintheVE.Thefirstapproachprovidestheuseofestablished,off-theshelftoolsintegratedwiththeVEtocreateahybridapplication.ThisintegrationisperformedthroughtheuseofAPIsprovidedbythesoftwarevendorandexistingInternetandcommunicationstechnologies.ThecommercialergonomicstoolandtheVErunconcurrentlyandintegratetheircapabilities.Thesecondapproachprovidesthecapabilitytodoergonomicevaluationsinaself-containedVEapplication.Inthismethod,therequiredergonomicscalculationsarebuiltintotheVE.Eachapproachhasitsowndistinctadvantages.TheuseofacommerciallyavailableergonomicstoolintegratedwithaVEprovidessignificantmorecapabilityandshouldbeusedwheredetailedandcomplexergonomicsevaluationsarerequired.However,theprocessofintegrationinthisapproachismoredifficultandtimeconsuming.Theself-containedVEapplicationismoresuitedforsimpleergonomicevaluationsorincaseswheretheergonomicsalgorithmsarereadilyaccessibleandeasilyimplemented.Thetwointegrationstrategiesaremethodicallyexplainedanddemonstratedusingcasestudiesconductedwithindustrypartners.Thisintegratedcapabilityfacilitatesintegrationofergonomicissuesearlyinthedesignandplanningphasesofworkplacelayouts.Itprovidesfunctionalitybeyondthecapabilitiesofcurrentcommercialoff-the-shelf(COTS)solutions.Inaddition,itcontributestoanewtrendintheintegrationofdifferenttechnologyfieldsforsynergisticuseinindustry.

Herewepresent/implementasemi-algorithmtofindLiouvillianfirstintegralsofdynamicalsystemsintheplane.ThealgorithmisbasedonaDarboux-typeproceduretofindtheintegratingfactorforthesystem.Sincetheparticularformofsuchsystemsallowsreducingittoasinglerationalfirstorderordinarydifferentialequation(rationalfirstorderODE),theLsolverpackagepresentsasetofsoftwareroutinesinMaplefordealingwithrationalfirstorderODEs.Thepackagepresentcommandspermittingresearchinvestigationsofsomealgebraicpropertiesofthesystemthatisbeingstudied.
