大学英语四级段落信息匹配高分技巧
第一节概述
信息匹配又称段落信息匹配,该题型的考查形式为一篇1200单词的文章后面附有10个句子,每句一题,而每句所含的信息出自文章的某一段落,要求考生找出与每句所含信息相匹配的段落,也就是说,考生要凭借题干给出的原文若干细节信息,找出文章中分别有这些信息的段落。
有的段落可能对应两题,有的段落可能不对应任何一题。
第二节难点分析
一、顺序原则被打破
段落信息匹配题打破了传统阅读题型的阅读技巧和解题思路,也不会遵守传统阅读题型的“顺序原则”,考生从文章开头到结尾依次答题的方法显然行不通。
二、题干均为长难句
四级信息匹配题的题干通常是名词短语或者长难句型,在试图寻找合适的定位词之前,考生往往已被题目错综复杂的表述搞懵了。
例如四级样卷第51题:
ThenumberofforeignstudentsapplyingtoU.S.universitiesdecreasedsharplyafterSeptember11duetochangesinthevisaprocess.
三、定位词模糊
即使考生能够读懂题干的晦涩意思,寻找定位词仍然存在很大障碍,因为这类题型往往不会出现可以直接用于定位的特殊标记词(数字、时间、地点、人物和特殊符号等),即使侥幸碰到,该定位词也会多次出现,并没有太大帮助,如上题中的U.S.。
四、干扰性增强
对于集库式选择题来说,问题和答案都是一一对应的,如果能够选出一对,那么就可以排除一个选项,但在段落信息匹配题当中,四级样卷明确提醒:
Youmaychooseaparagraphmorethanonce(一段可能被用两次)。
在这种情况下,排除法也就没有无用武之地了。
第三节高分技巧
要想完成段落信息匹配题,需要考生先从头到尾读完文章,全面掌握文章的结构和细节信息之后,再进行解题,但这种方法对于阅读水平和单词量都有限的四级考生来说有些难度。
因而,掌握以下解题方法和技巧就势在必行了。
一、先看题干再看文章
先看题干再看文章,能够帮助考生将一些简单的题目先做出来,当你发现简单的题目全部做完之后,剩下的难题可以匹配剩下的段落,从而缩小了选择的范围,所以一定要先题后文,稍后再文题同步或先文后题。
1.段落信息匹配的题干都是围绕文章标题或段落主题的细节信息,通过快速阅读题干,可以迅速了解文章的主旨大意。
如四级样卷中Q46—Q48:
46.Americanuniversitiespreparetheirundergraduatesforglobalcareersbygivingthemchancesforinternationalstudyorinternship.
47.Sincethemid-1970s,theenrollmentofoverseasstudentshasincreasedatanannualrateof3.9percent.
48.TheenrollmentofinternationalstudentswillhaveapositiveimpactonAmericaratherthanthreatenitscompetitiveness.
熟悉四级场景单词的考生一定认识university,enrollment,students等词,文章关于美国大学教育或学生的主题因此得以确定。
看过文章标题UniversitiesBranchOut之后,通过快速预览这道段落信息匹配题的题干部分,考生可以马上了解到文章的主题是关于美国大学的扩张。
虽然题干不一定是文章的主旨句,却与文章主题息息相关,因而可以通过快速浏览题干,掌握文章的主旨大意。
2.利用特殊标记词,尽快定位简单题目。
这些特殊标记词包括:
精确数字、缩略词、专有名词、斜体或引用内容等。
如47题:
Sincethemid-1970s,theenrollmentofoverseasstudentshasincreasedatanannualrateof3.9percent.
这道题就属于比较简单的题目。
在做题的时候,考生应关注两个数字:
mid-1970和3.9percent,一个是时间,一个是精确数字,结合原文可知,C段出现了3.9%和1975两个数字,而且跟题干相契合,便可直接定位至C段。
C段Overthepastthreedecadesthenumberofstudentsleavinghomeeachyeartostudyabroadhasgrownatanannualrateof3.9percent,from800,000in1975to2.5millionin2004.
又如51题:

“September11”就是表示时间的数字,可直接定位至H段。

二、一段段速读文章,一道道梳理题目
完成前两步之后,建议考生再按照先后顺序,梳理原文,逐句逐段进行答案的确认。
因此,考生需要注意:
1.速读每一段,注意段首段尾句和段内的逻辑关系词。
段首段尾句可帮助考生快速理解本段的主要内容,而逻辑关系词通常涉及本段的重点信息,而这些重点信息通常就是考点所在。
常见的逻辑关系词主要有:
转折关系:
but,however,unfortunately
因果关系:
since,because,asaresult,so
让步关系:
although,though
递进关系:
notonly…,butalso….;notmerely,but….
比较关系:
more/evenmore…than….;themost
如四级样卷A段:
(重点看段尾句的转折关系)Butatthesametime,theopeningofnationalborderstotheflowofgoods,services,informationandespeciallypeoplehasmadeuniversitiesapowerfulforceforglobalintegration,mutualunderstandingandgeopoliticalstability.
根据转折关系词but定位至本句后,找到句子主干:
....hasmadeuniversitiesapowerfulforce,用这句话去匹配剩余题目即可。
浏览至54题,发现:
Present-dayuniversitieshavebecomeapowerfulforceforglobalintegration.则答题成功。
同理,F段重点句也包含but:
Thelinkbetweenuniversity-basedscienceandindustrialapplicationisoftenindirectbutsometimeshighlyvisible:
浏览至53题,发现:
Aroundtheworld,governmentsencouragethemodeloflinkinguniversity-basedscienceandindustrialapplication.则答题成功。
2.用同义替换法匹配剩余的段落和题干。
同义替换是四级阅读类题型的终极解决方案,因为阅读理解只考两件事,一是看到题干的关键词或标记词,再到原文进行定位,直接进行判断,相对比较简单;再就是通过逻辑关系词确定关键句的位置,进行转换后发现原文内容和某选项说的是相同的意思,有一定的难度。
如53题,段落中的link变成了题干中的linking。
如四级样卷的E段:

首尾句,精确数字(4,300,95),专有名词(FudanUniversity)等。
浏览题干后,发现49题(Thewayresearchiscarriedoutinuniversitieshaschangedasaresultofglobalization.)中有globalization一词,对应的就是E段首句,后面都是同义替换,对应关系为:
Reshape=haschanged,researchisdone=researchiscarriedout。
针对同义替换,建议各位考生:
第一、平时背单词时,要多单词的同义词和近义词,以及相关短语。
第二、每次做完四级真题,都要积累同义替换的表达方式,重复考查几率很高。
