∙Historically,MicrosoftApp-V/SoftGrid’ssuccessrateforvirtualizingapplicationshasbeenaround80-85%ofatypicalcustomer’sapplicationset.ThinApp,incomparison,hasexceeded90-95%ofatypicalcustomer’sapplicationset.Thislastunvirtualized5-10%doesnotnecessarilyrepresentapplicationsthatcannotbepackaged;rather,itmeansthattheeffortrequiredtosuccessfullycapturetheapplicationmaynotbecost-justifiableandmakegoodbusinesssense.

∙Asananecdote,duringaThinAppvs.App-Vbake-offandPoCconductedbyaVMwarepartnerwithstrongtiestoMicrosoftApp-V,wherebothphysicalandvirtualdesktopswereconsidered,thearchitectwhodesignedtheVDIsolutionconcludedthatThinAppwasmoreappropriatethanApp-VforvirtualdesktopenvironmentsbecauseApp-VrequiredtoomuchadditionaldiskspaceintheVMs,whichwasadealbreaker.

∙BecauseThinApprunsin100%usermode,ThinAppisnotaffectedbycontextswitchingfortheCPUs.InsomecasesitcanperformbetterthannativelyinstalledCitrixapplications.

∙TheApp-Vclientrunsinkernelmode（mostapplicationsrununderusermodebutsomestillruninkernelmode）andisseverelyaffectedbycontextswitchingontheCPUs,greatlyimpactingperformanceofApp-VapplicationsdeployedtoaCitrixPresentationServer.

∙Asananecdote,duringaThinAppPoC,acustomerCitrixadministratorattestedthatThinAppvirtualizedapplicationsranbetterthanApp-VvirtualizedapplicationswhendeployedonCitrixbecauseofThinApp’sindependencefromcontextswitching,asitrunsin100%usermode.
