HebuiltAmerica,forwhatourRepublicistodayislargelyduetotheprudence,theforethought,thestatesmanship,theenterprise,thewisdom,andtheabilityofBenjaminFranklin.Hebelongstotheworld,butespeciallydoeshebelongtoAmerica.Asthenationshonoredhimwhileliving,sotheRepublicglorifieshimwhendead,andhasenshrinedhiminthechoicestofitsniches,theoneheregardedastheloftiesttheheartsofthecommonpeople,fromwhomhehadsprungandintheirheartsFranklinwillliveforever.
