Regretisascommonanemotionasloveorfear,anditcanbenearlyaspowerful.So,inanewpaper,tworesearcherssetabouttryingtofindoutwhatthetypicalAmericanregretsmost.Intelephonesurveys,NealRose,apsychologistandprofessorofmarketingattheSchoolofManagementatNorthwesternUniverstiy,andMikeMorrison,adoctoralcandidateinpsychologyatUniversityofIllinois,asked370Americans,aged19to103,totalkabouttheirmostnotableregret.Participantswereaskedwhattheregretwas,whenithappened,whetheritwasaresultofsomethingtheydidordidn‘tdo,andwhetheritwassomethingthatcouldstillbefixed.
