7.MTBF(MeanTimeBetweenFailure)
1.Purpose
ThepurposeofMTBFwillfindpotentialweaknessofdesignedproduct,thatwecanunderstandsomeweakpointinadvanceandfindoutsolutionormethodduringtest,alsoproductsaredemonstratedtodeterminewhatMTBFismeetrequirementbeforeshipment.
2.Sample
Testsamplesize(100EA.preferred)shallbedeterminedfromtheproductrequirementandschedule,butwillbeofsufficientsizetoallowdemonstrationofproductMTBFrequirementtoa90%confidenceinterval.
3.Testprocedure&condition
a.AlloftestingsampleshavetopassnormalproducingprocessandfunctionaltestbeforestartingMTBFprogram.
b.Allavailableappropriatediagnosticprogramwillbeappliedtorunduringtest.
c.Thetestwillbepoweroffatleasthalfanhourothersmustbepowerontime.
d.Aftercompletedtest,productshavetopassfunctiontest.
4.Failurereloading,analysisandcorrectiveaction
a.Problemandfailureaction
Ontheoccasionofafailure,entriesshallbemadeontheappropriatedatalogsandthefailedunitshallberemovedfromtestanddeeplyanalysiswithminimuminterruptiontotheproductscontinuedontest.Afterafailedandrepairedunithasbeenreturnedtooperatecondition,itshallbereturnedtotestwithappropriateentryinthedatalogs.
b.Problemandfailurereporting
b-1Thequalityengineershallinitiatetheproblemandfailurereport,recordinginformationwhichwillindicatesymptomsoffailure,theconditionandidentificationoffailedproduct.
b-2DesignengineerofR&Ddepartmentshallanalyzeandidentifyallpartsfailure.Analyzetheproductdesignandthecorrectiveactiontaken.
b-3DQAengineershallreviewtheanalysisandthecorrectiveactiontoensurethatqualityorreliabilitydesignisnotdegraded.
