Theexpositorywritingiswrittentoexplainandinform.Thereareavarietyofwaystoorganizeanexpositoryessay,dependingonyourpurpose.Themostcommonstrategiesincludedevelopmentbyexample,definition,comparisonandcontrast,divisionandclassification,processanalysis,andcasualanalysis.
3.Principlesofnarrativewriting
Principles
Inthisunit,wewillfocusontheexample/illustrationessay.Thistypeofexpositorywritinginvolvesusingexamplestosupportyourgeneralstatementorexplainyouridea:
●Youmayuserelevantfacts,
statistics,
personalexperiences,
incidents,or
stories
toexplain,illustrate,orsupportthepointinyouressay.
●Thenumberofexamplesyouuseinanexampleessaydependson
thetopicofyourwriting:
