Heearnedhislawdegreein1781,butdidnotpracticelawuntil1789.Oncehestartedhefoundthelawwasnottohisliking.Websterdidnothavemuchmoney.
In1793,AlexanderHamiltonlenthim $1500tomovetoNewYorkCitytoeditanewspaper. InDecember, hefoundedNewYork'sfirstdailynewspaper,AmericanMinerva,andediteditforfouryears.Fordecades,hepublishedtextbooks, politicalessays,areportonsomediseases,andnewspaperarticlesforhisparty,Hewrotesomuchthatamodern listofhispublishedworksrequired655pages.
NoahWebsterdiedonMay28, 1843andwasburiedintheGroveStreetCemetery.
