CHAR-BROILHISTORY
1948ColumbusIronWorksmanufacturesfirstChar-Broilgrills.Thenewcooker,knownasthebarbecuegrillwastheChar-Broil19.ItsoldinthesamehardwarestoresthatcarriedBradley’sagriculturalandstovesupplies.AnadofferingtheCBforonly$19.00,deliveredanywhereintheU.S.soldmoregrillsthanevenBradleythoughtpossible.Thisnewcookerwasa“hotitem”.Earlygrillsweremadefromsteeldrumswithcastironfiregratesandcookinggrates.
1953Hoodedgrillswereintroduced.Asthebackyardbarbecuemarketgrewbiggerandconsumersdemandedmorechoice.
1961CookingSystem:
