overthenextfiveminutes,myintentionistotransformyourrelationshipwithsound.letmestartwiththeobservationthatmostofthesoundaroundusisaccidental,andmuchofitisunpleasant.(trafficnoise)westandonstreetcorners,shoutingovernoiselikethis,andpretendingthatitdoesn'texist.well,thishabitofsuppressingsoundhasmeantthatourrelationshipwithsoundhasbecomelargelyunconscious.
therearefourmajorwayssoundisaffectingyouallthetime,andi'dliketoraisetheminyourconsciousnesstoday.firstisphysiological.(loudalarmclocks)sorryaboutthat.i'vejustgivenyouashotofcortisol,yourfight/flighthormone.soundsareaffectingyourhormonesecretionsallthetime,butalsoyourbreathing,yourheartrate--whichijustalsodid--andyourbrainwaves.
