1.Scope
Thisstandardspecifiesthetechnicalrequirementsandtestmethodsfortransmissionperformance,safetyandlightningresistance,environmentaladaptation,andelectromagneticcompatibilityofhands-freetelephonesetsandconferencetelephonesets.
Thisstandardisapplicabletohands-freetelephonesetsandconferencetelephonesetsconnectingtoanalogueinterfacesofpublicservicetelephonenetworkforuse.Referencemayalsobemadetothisstandardforloudspeakingtelephonesetsandotherterminaldeviceswithhands-freefunctionconnectingtoanalogueinterfacesofpublicservicetelephonenetwork.
2.NormativeReferences

3.1.1Hands-freeTelephoneSet(HFT)
Ahands-freetelephoneset(hereafterreferredtoas"telephoneset")meansatelephonesetwhichcanrealizedialing,speechtransmissionandspeechreceivingwithoutliftingthehandleafterthe"hands-free"functionkeyispressed.
3.1.2ConferenceTelephoneTerminal
Aterminaldeviceforsimultaneoususebymorethanoneuserwhichrealizespoint-to-pointormulti-pointteleconference.
3.1.3ConferenceTelephoneSet
Aconferencetelephoneset(hereafterreferredtoas"telephoneset")meansaconferencetelephoneterminalwhichcanrealizedialing,speechtransmissionandspeechreceivingafterthe"hands-free"functionkeyispressed.
3.1.4LoudspeakingTelephoneSet
Aloudspeakingtelephonesetmeansatelephonesetwhichcanrealizedialingandspeechreceivingwithoutliftingthehandleafterthe"loudspeaking"functionkeyispressed.
3.1.5HeadandTorsoSimulator(HATS)
Manikinextendingdownwardfromthetopoftheheadtothewaist,designedtosimulatethesoundpick-upcharacteristicsandtheacousticdiffractionproducedbyamedianhumanadultandtoreproducetheacousticfieldgeneratedbythehumanmouth,usedfortelephonometry.
3.1.6LipRing
Circularringofthinrigidrodwhichisconstructedofnon-magneticmaterialandcanbesolidlyfixabletotheartificialmouthorHATS.
3.1.7LipPlane
Outerplaneofthelipring.
3.1.8ReferenceAxis
Theaxisperpendiculartothelipplanecontainingthecentreofthelipring.
3.1.9MouthReferencePoint(MRP)
Thepointonthereferenceaxis,25mmrightaheadofthelipplane.
3.1.10Hands-freeReferencePoint(HFRP)
Thepointonthereferenceaxis,500mmrightaheadofthelipplane.
3.1.11HATSHFRP
Thepointonthereferenceaxis,500mminfrontofthelipplaneofHATS(similartoHFRP).
Ifusedatotherpositions,theHATSHFRPshallmeetthereferencepoint"n"stipulatedinITU-TP.58,andthereferencepoint"n"shallbeoneofNo.11~17referencepointsdefinedinTable6AofITU-TP.58(Relativetofrontpointatalongdistance).
3.1.12CompositeSourceSignal(CSS)
Signalcomposedintimebyvarioussignalelements,ofwhichthecharacteristicsmeettheprovisionsofITU-TP.501.
3.1.13ThresholdLevel(VTH)
Theminimumsignallevelrequiredforeliminatinginsertionloss.
3.1.14Build-upTimeTR
Thetimeintervalbetweentheinstantwhentheinputsignallevelgoesoverthethresholdlevelandtheinstantwhentheinputsignallevelis3dBlowerthanthepeakvalue(thelevelwithallinsertionlosseliminated).
Accordingtothetransmissiondirectionofsignal,build-uptimeisdividedintosendingbuild-uptimeTRTandreceivingbuild-uptimeTRR.
3.1.15SwitchingTimeTS
Thetimefromonetransmissiondirectiontotheother.Thetimeisthetimerequiredfromthetimewhentheexcitationsignallevelgoesoverthethresholdleveltothetimewhentheinputsignallevelis3dBlowerthanthepeakvalue(thelevelwithallinsertionlosseliminated).
Accordingtothetransmissiondirectionofsignal,switchingtimeisdividedintoswitchingtimefromsendingtoreceivingTSTRandswitchingtimefromreceivingtosendingTSRT.
