BorninNewYorkin1976,WanggrewupintheUnitedStates.Blessedwithamixofbrainsandtalent,hespenthisyouthperforminginlocalmusicals,thenpursuedadegreeinmusicatWilliamsCollege,followedbyamastersdegreefromtheprestigiousBerkleySchoolofMusic.
王力宏出生于1976年,在美国长大,被赋予中西合并的天分与才能,青年时期参演音乐剧,随后在WilliamsCollege取得本科学位,而后又在赋有盛名的伯克利音乐学院取得硕士学位。
Whileinuniversity,WanglandedarecordingcontractinTaiwan.Hisbreakthroughalbum,Revolution,garneredravereviewsandfirmlyestablishedhimasarisingstarintheAsianmusicscene.
在大学时期,力宏与台湾的公司签下了唱片约。
《音乐进化论》,作为他事业飞跃的一张专辑,令他的人气飙升,也奠定了他在亚洲音乐圈的地位。
Inadditiontowritingandproducinghisownmusic,WanghasalsodabbledinmovieprojectsaroundAsia.

你的音乐,是中西音乐的混合体,你自己也是这样的一种体现。
自己怎么样来形容你的风格呢?
WL:
Um,actuallyIcallmystyle--andIhopeIdon'toffendanyoftheviewers--butIcallit"chinkedout."
力宏:
恩……实际上我把自己的风格——希望没有冒犯到任何的观众(因为chink在英语中有蔑视中国人的意味)——我称之为"chinkedout".
LH:
I'mgladyousaiditandIdidn't.
LH:
幸好是你说出来了,而不是我。
WL:
Well,the“chinkedout”styleisaschoolofhiphop–that’sthewayIliketothinkofit–thatincorporatesChineseelementsandsounds.Uh,IstarteditoffinmylastalbumcalledShangrila.Andthisalbumincorporatedthemusicofethnicminorities,inChina,inTibet,inMongolia,Shenzhen.There’s50someodd–somepeoplesay54,55differentethnicminorities—tribalmusic.It’sa—beautifulandoriginaltoChineseculture.AndthisnewalbumcalledHeroesofEarthincorporatesPekingOperaandQuen-chuwhicharethousandyearoldtraditionsthatarealsouniquetoChineseculture.Veryuniqueinstrumentation,costumes,singingstyles.Anditinvigorateshiphopmusic.Idon’tthinkanyonehaseverdonethisbeforeinhiphop,inthehiphopworld.
力宏:
chinkedout风格是一种嘻哈态度,至少我是这么想的,这是中国元素以及声音的融合。
这个概念是在上一张专辑《心中的日月》开始的。
这张专辑更融合了中国少数民族的音乐。
中国有50多种少数民族音乐,有些人说54,或者55(呃...你问的都是什么人啊,力宏大哥.这些都是非常美,而且是中国文化特有的。
我的新专辑叫做《盖世英雄》,它融合了京剧和昆曲这两种具有上千年历史的中国传统戏曲。
它们使用非常特别的演奏乐器,服装造型还有唱腔。
传统的艺术跟hiphop激烈的撞击,产生出很多火花。
从没有人在嘻哈界这么做过。
LH:

现在当你使用chinkedout这个具有毁谤意味的词时,难道你不会担心这会冒犯一些人么?

力宏:
这只是音乐啦~我是一个艺人。
我宁愿我的作品能够促使人们思考,创造新的想法,新的声音。
说这是chinckedout绝对不是想冒犯任何人。
希望我能重新给这个词定义,这个我在纽约从小听到大的词。
那里曾经是有歧视的,我希望我能让之前不好的现在听起来很cool。
(意思是,别人说出来我们就觉得在夸中国人?

一定有很多事物一直影响着你的创作。
能说说都有哪些事物么?
WL:
Well,I’vegotsomanyinfluences.Asfarasumpopularmusicisconcerned,there’dbepeoplelikeStevieWonderandPrince.Um,AlishaKeysandOutkast.MissyElliot.RKelly.TheNeptunes,peoplelikethat.Andum,inclassicalmusicLeonardBernstein,Bartok,Stravinsky,youknow20thcenturygreatcomposers.InJazzthere’sthegreatJazzpianists—becauseIstudiedjazzpianoaswell-likeHerbieHancock,KeithJarrett,KrisTiner,TheloniousMonk,BillEvans.
力宏:
对我影响很大的有很多。
流行音乐界的StevieWonder,Prince,AlishaKeys,Outkast,MissyElliot,RKelly,TheNeptunes;古典音乐界的LeonardBernstein,Bartok,Stravinsky,所有这些20世纪的伟大作曲家,以及很多非常优秀的爵士钢琴演奏家,因为我是学爵士钢琴的,像是HerbieHancock,KeithJarrett,KrisTiner,TheloniousMonk,BillEvans,

我走哪都带着我的电脑。

你用它随时在作曲?
WL:
Yeah,IwriteanddoallmyarrangementsonmyMac.Andum,IuseLogicPro,whichisagreatsoftwareprogram.It’sgotallthesesynthesizers,softwaresince…it’sgotawholeorchestrainside.(LH:
wow.)AndactuallyIdidthiswholealbum,I’dsay90%ofit,alltheprogramming,atleast,inmylaptop.
力宏:
是啊。
我用mac完成创作以及编曲。
我用一个非常棒的软件,叫LogicPro,里面有所有的合成器还有一整套的交响乐团。
事实上,我的新专辑至少90%以上都是在本本中完成的。
LH:
Really?
(WL:

不是吧?

在路上就完成这些?

力宏:
是啊,路上,飞机上还有宾馆里。
LH:

看来科技对你们这类人还真的是非常重要啊。
WL:
Ohabsolutely.Um,Ithinkitmakesthemusicmorenaturaltobeabletoincorporatetheproductionjustinyoureverydaylife.Yougetanidea,andyoujustpulloutyourcomputeronthebus,oronthecar,orwherever,andsay,“Oh,I’mgoingtolaydownanothertrack,”youknow.It’sjustpainless.
力宏:
那是必须的~这样做出来的音乐跟生活更贴近。
随时有个想法,就可以放进电脑,无论当时你在公交车上还是其他什么地方,就可以做成一条歌。
完全很方便么~
LH:

不是)所以,.你是成年之后才学的中文?
WL:
Well,IlearneditgrowingupinaChinesehousehold.ButthatwasintheStatessoitwas,byfar,notfluentatall.
力宏:
应该这么说,从小到大我生活的环境中有中文,但是因为是在美国长大的,所以很不流利。
LH:

所以你刚开始创作中文歌很难?
WL:
Initially.ButIreallyIthinkpaidmydues.Youknow,Istudiedit.AndI’mstillstudyingitbecause,colloquiallyforme,it’snotaproblemnow,butwhenyougobackandworkwithPekingOperaandyou’relookingatthescriptsfrom,thousandyearoldscripts,andthewaytheChineselanguageis,theancientChineseissodifferentthancontemporaryChinese.ImeanitwouldbeveryhardforyourtypicalChinese,nativespeaker,tounderstandthateither.
力宏:
刚开始的时候是,但是我真的努力学了,而且现在仍然在学。
因为生活中的中文对我已经不是问题了,但是京剧中的文言体比现代汉语难得多的多。
就算是土生土长的中国人,文言文也是很难的。
LH:

但是你还没有专辑是英文的呢。

)I’vedoneplentyofEnglishsinglesthough…arecollaborationswithartistsfromtheStatesorothercountries.I’vejusthadawonderfultimedoingChinesemusic,andit’sbeensorewardingforme.Ifeellikethere’ssomuchpotentialinmandarinmusic,andthere’ssomuch,youknow,groundlefttobebroken.
力宏:
我从不强迫自己去做一张英文专辑。
(有计划么?
)我有很多跟美国以及其他国家艺人合作的英文单曲。
华语音乐对我有很大的吸引力,我很享受创作中文歌曲。
华语音乐有很大的潜力,很多领域仍需要开发。
LH:

在适当的时候会出英文专辑么?
WL:
Yeah.Itis,itis.Imean,IlovesinginginEnglish.Andit’sawonderfullanguagetosingin.Yeah.
力宏:

我喜欢用英语唱歌,英文唱歌很好听哒~
LH:
Butnotyourpreferenceatthemoment.
LH:
但只是还不是你现在会做的。
WL:
Notnow.Imean,Chinesemusicis—Ihopeeveryonegetsachancetohearwhat’sgoingoninChinesemusicbecauseit’s,itisnew.AndeveryoneknowsthattheChineseworldisexplodingandyoucanwatchCNN.Youcanseeallthesenewsbroadcastabouttheeconomy,etc.Butasfarasthemusicisconcerned,it’sthesameway.Popworld,popmusic,ormovies,oretc,youknow.Um,sothere’salotofinterestingstuffgoingon.
力宏:
还没到时候。
华语音乐是,我希望所有人都能有机会听到华语音乐所处的时代,这是崭新的时代。
所有人都知道华人世界正在日新月异的变化,你可以看CNN,还有那些关于经济之类的新闻。
在音乐界,也是一样。
有很有多有趣的事情正在发生着。
LH:

这些对你来说有什么样的意义呢?

是对你工作的肯定么?
WL:
Well.ThefirsttimeIwon,uhlikeyoujustsaid,whenIwas22,itmeantalottome.Itwaslike…Ididn’tknowIcouldmakethishappen,Ididn’tknowIcouldgetthiskindofrecognition.Sobackthen,itwasahugeboostofconfidence.AndIdon’twanttosayego,butconfidence.Ithinkeveryartistneedsconfidence.
力宏:
我第一次获奖时22岁,奖项对那时的我很重要。
就像是,做梦一样。
从没想过自己可以受到这样的肯定。
那时,得奖使我信心大增。
请注意,是信心不是自我膨胀……我相信每个艺人都是需要信心的。
LH:

这是我第一次主持。
所以我知道了主持人压力有多大,非常尊重你的工作。
因为,我是一个艺人口条没有很好。
很小的时候我就不怎么说话,只想玩我的钢琴跟小提琴,所以这次主持工作真的是逼着我练口条。
要练习怎样读导播提示,读提词机上的内容之类的。
Kelly非常棒,她很聪明也很可爱。
跟她在一起很开心,她让一起变得简单起来。
