ThescientistswhodidthestudyworkforNASA’sJetPropulsionLaboratoryattheCalifornia InstituteofTechnologyinPasadena.TheyreportthatlakesseemtobewarmingfasterinthenorthernpartsoftheNorthernHemisphere.IntheUnitedStates,lakesinthesouthwesternpartofthecountrywarmedfasterthandidtheGreatLakesinthenorth.
