intime表示“及时”,just强调“刚刚,正好”。
表达“及时做某事”可以用intimetodosth.
与它类似的短语ontime意为“准时”。

fell是fall的过去式。

payattention表示“注意,留心”,后面
接名词或v.-ing形式作宾语时要借助介词to,即“payattentionto+n./v.-ing形式”。

sidebyside表示“并排的,肩并肩的”。
与它类似的短语还有onebyone(一个接一个地),daybyday(一天一天地)和stepbystep(逐步地)等。

while引导的时间状语从句用进行时。
当主句的时态是现在时,while引导的从句用现在进行时;当主句的时态是过去时,while引导的从句用过去进行时。

句中的as表示当……的时候,用来引导时间状语从句。
getworse表示“变得更糟”。
worse是bad的比较级,worst是最高级。
