Busesinthesubstationaremajorfacilitiesthosearetakeninchargeofthegatheringanddistributingofthecurrentflow,also,whichwillplayamajorroleintheelectricpowertrade.Busfaultslittlehappeninthepowersystem,ifany,itdecreasereliabilityandstabilityforoverallpowersystem.Themaincausesarenaturalinsulationaging,lightingandmistakenoperation.
3.1ClassificationsofBus(RefertoGDS5200“bus-barscheme”)
Classificationsofbusinsubstationsareclassifiedasmainbus,branchbusandoutgoingbusandtheserolesareasfollows;
▪Mainbus
Themainbusshallmanagethecurrentflowofallfeeders.Therefore,thistermmeansthatallfeedersareconnectedtomainbussuchasdivergencebuses,outgoingbusestomakeintegratedcurrentflowsasshowninfigurebelow
▪Branchbus
Indoublebus-barscheme,thebranchbusshallbeconnectedbetweenmainbusesasshowninfigurebelow
▪Outgoingbus
Outgoingbusshallconnectedtothemainbusorbranchbustoconnectthefeederlinesorthetransformerlinesasshowninfigurebelow

(c)Inspectcompressiontool,wiringequipmentandtools.

(b)Checkdiessizeandabrasionduringtotalconstructionprocedure.
3.2Cuttingwire
(a)Checkcompressivedeadendclampsize.
(b)Determinecuttingpositionbyexaminingthatwireisdamaged,bentandswollen.
(c)Windabinderwireaboutthreetimes3cminsidethecuttingpoint.
(d)Markthecuttingpointusingamputator.
(e)WhenusingAlcuttertocuttheAlwire,becarefulthattheedgeofwireisnotdamaged.CuthalfthelastlayerofAlwirewithcutters.Theremaininghalfshouldbecutbyhandtopreventcuttersfromdamagingthesteelcore.
(f)ExposethesteelcoreaftercuttingAlwireattheendofwire.
(g)Windbinderwirearoundexposedsteelcore.
3.3Cleaningthewire
(a)CleanAlwiresurfacebyrubbingitwithawirebrush.
A.Ifnecessary,removetherustforsteelcore.
B.IfAlwiresareoldenough,untwistandcleaneachAlwirethoroughly.
(b)CleanupinsideAlsleevewithbenzene.
3.4Dead-endclampCompression
(a)Aftercleaningwiresurfacewithwirebrush,insertAlclampintowireconsideringrightinsertdirection.
(b)Afterassemblingclampwithcompressiondies,insertsteelcoretightly.
(c)Whilekeepingwireeven,compressthedieswithbeingpileduponeonanotherbyonethirdfrominsideclamptowire.
(d)Aftercompressionwork,removeforeignsubstances.Checktheresultbycompressiongaugeandtakepicturesinordertorecordresults.
(e)Compressionworkcautionsareasfollows;
A.IfSteelcorebecomestwistedaftercompression,Alclampcouldnotbeinserted.SokeeptheSteelcoreeventomakeSteelclampstraightwhencompressingit.
B.AlthoughcorrodedSteelclampiscompressedwithsteelcore,steelcoreandsteelclamparestillseparated.SodonotusecorrodedSteelclamp.
(f)PutAlclamponcompressedsteelcore.FillitwithconductivecompoundthroughthecompoundinletasmuchascompoundflowoutAlsleeveduringcompressionwork.
(g)Compressthecompresseddieswithbeingpileduponeonanotherbyonethirdtowardtransmissionlinealongcompressiondirectionline.
(h)Afterremovingforeignsubstancesaroundcompressedarea,checktheresultbycompressiongaugeandtakepicturestorecordtheresult.
(i)Aftercompression,anamountofcompoundmustcomeoutequallyfromAlSleevearound.Andbirdcagingmustbeeliminated.
