RobertLeeFrostwasbornonMarch26,1874inSanFrancisco,California.FrostattendedDartmouthCollegeaftergraduatingfromhighschoolin1892.In1894,hisfirstpoem,titled“MyButter

ThetimeRobertFrostspentonhisfarminNewHampshirewasveryhardforhim,hiswifeandchildren.Hetriedtoworkhardandsupporthisfamily.However,Frostcametorespectcountrylifeandgrewanappreciationforthoselivingaroundhim.Theseexperiencesonthefarminspiredmanyofhiswell-knownpoems,including“TheTuftsofFlowers”and“TheTrialbyExistence”,bothofwhichwerepublishedin1906.
ItwaswhenRobertFrostdecidedtosellhisfarmin1912andmovetoEnglandthathefoundpublisherswhowerewillingtohelphim.Hisfirstcollectionofpoems,“ABoy’sWill”,waspublishedonlyafewmonthsafterhisarrivalinEngland,and“NorthofBoston”waspublishedayearafterward.
BythetimethatRobertFrostmadeitbacktohishomecountryofAmerica,hehadbuiltasolidcareerandreputationinEnglandandwasabletofurtherhissuccess.In1916,withsomeinfluentialpublishers’help,Frostpublished“Mountain
Interval”,whichcontainedpoemsandstorieshehadwrittenduringhisstayinEngland.RobertFrostdiedonJanuary29,1963inBoston,attheageof88.Beforepassingaway,RobertFrostwasawardedtheCongressionalGoldMedalin1960forhiscontributions.
