情态动词也称能愿动词,表示能力、可能性和意愿。
英语中的情态动词有can,may,might,could,should等等。
下面主要讲解can的用法。
情态动词和一个实义动词原形共同构成谓语,如:
can+动词原形,各种句式变化的时候都表现在can(情态动词)上。
同学们,如果我们要用英语表述自己会做什么事,就会用到can这个单词。
一起来了解一下它,并和它交个朋友吧!
一、基本特点:
联手动词原形
can是情态动词,意为“能、会”,没有人称和数的变化,须与动词原形连用。
例如:
ThelittleboycandoChinesekungfu.
这个小男孩会中国功夫。
Theycanbegoodwithchildren.
他们能和孩子们友好相处。
二、变疑问句:
can提前
变一般疑问句时,把can提到主语前即可。
肯定回答用“Yes,主语+can.”,否定回答用“No,主语+can’t.”。
三、变否定句:
not跟后边
变否定句时,在can的后面加not,经常把cannot缩写成can’t。
例如:
Tonycan’tspeakChinese.
托尼不会说中国话。
Mymothercan’tpaint.
我妈妈不会画画。
can的用法巧记歌谣
表能力,要用can。
陈述句里记特点,
肯定can后加动原;
否定can后not连;
疑问句,can提前,
肯定回答“Yes,主语can”,
否定回答“No,主语can’t”记心间。
