波士顿会议和展览中心

坐落在南波士顿中心的滨水地区,新的波士顿会议和会展中心代表了该城市进入会议设施市场的高端市场。
该项目是由管理着波士顿的马萨诸塞会议中心署来设计的,它发起的第一阶段的建筑设计,包括一个50000平方米的可以再分的展览厅、两个分别为4000和1500平米的舞厅以及总建筑面积超过15000平方米的72个会议室。
第一阶段的建筑完成了四年之后,第二阶段即将进行,将增加大约30%的总建筑面积来扩大展览厅和会议室。
波士顿会议和会展中心的巨大体量坐落在两个单独的都市环境中。
尽管场地北部地区主要是大型的多用途建筑,这里也是南波士顿滨水区再开发中的一部分,而南部区域则以小规模的住宅建筑为主。
建筑设计通过沿着一个长长的斜屋顶进行高度上的变化而有效地调和了这种转变。
为了进一步将建筑融合进它周围的环境中,并减少它对南波士顿近邻地区的视觉影响,展览馆的大体量已经被小规模的会议室和社交场所包围了。
进入和离开会议室中心的各种交通工具对于当地居民而言也是一个敏感的问题。
为了从南波士顿街道上将这些交通隔离开来,一条抬高了环形公路环绕着该建筑,并沿着700米的长度为通向会议室和划分开的展览大厅提供了单独的车辆通道。
停车场和装载港坐落在汽车高速公路的下方,超过了视野范围。
在波士顿会议和展览中心里面,沿着展览厅的两侧的V形柱子支持着较高层的会议室和社交场所。
屋顶的拱门以及暴露在外的构架从本质上说是一个非常高雅的工棚,是得它能够承担超过50米的自由跨度,并且标志着该场所是高度结构化的且非常适合大型设施。
两座桥漂浮在这个不受妨碍的垂直空间的上方,一次来连接建筑物的两侧,并提供更加有效的循环。

SituatedattheheartoftheSouthBostonwaterfront,thenewBostonConventionandExhibitionCenterrepresentsthecity’sentryintothetop-tieroftheconventionfacilitiesmarket.TheprogramdevelopedbythemassachusettsConvetionCenterAuthority,whichadministerstheBCEC,callsforafirstphaseconstructionconsistingofa50,000-square-metersub-divisibleexhibitionhall,twoballroomsmeasuring4,000and15,00meters.fouryearsaftercompletionofthefirstphase,thesecondphasewillbeundertaken,addingapproximately30percenttothetotalinanexpationoftheexhibitionhallandmeetingrooms.
TheenormousvolumeoftheBCECissituatedwithintwodisparateurbanconditions.Althoghtheareatothenorthofthesitefeathureslarge-scalemixed-usebuildingsthatarepartoftheSouthBostonWaterfrontRedevelopment,smaal-scaleresidentialbuildingscharacterizetheareatothesouth.Thedesignofthebuildingeffectivelynegotiatesthistransitionbyfollowingthechanginelevationwithalong,gentlyslopedroof.
TofurtherintegratethecomplexintoitssurroudingsandlessenitsvisualimpactontheSouthBostonneighborhood,thevastvolumeoftheexhibitionhallhasbeensurroudedbysmallerscalemeetingroomsandsocialspaces.Vehiculartrafficinandoutoftheconventioncenterwasalsoasensitiveissuewithlocalresidents.InordertosegregatethistrafficfromSouthBostonstreets,anelevatedringroadencirclesthebuildingandprovidesindependentvehicularaccesstomeetingroomsandthelobbiesofthesubdividedexhibithallsalongthefacility’s700-meterlength.Parkinggaragesandloadingdocksarelocatedoutofsightbeneaththismotoway.insidetheBCEC,V-shapedcolumnsalongbothsidesoftheexhibitionhallsuportthemeetingroomsandsocialspacesontheupperfloors.thearchoftheroofanditsexposedtrussesisessentiallyaveryelegantindustrialshedthatallowsittocarryafree-spanofover50metersandmakesthespaceextremlyconfigurableandsuitableforlargeinstallation.Twobridgesfloatabovethisvirtuallyunencumberedspacetoconnectthetwosidesofthebuildingandprovidemoerefficientcirculatio

该博物馆的重建包括一个新的参观中心(Mevoah)、一座新的历史博物馆以替代建于1953年的现有历史博物馆、一座“名字堂”、一个犹太教堂、一个以大屠杀为主题的画廊、一个展览馆和一个视觉资料中心。
此外,新建的地下停车场和一些专为旅游观光车服务的设施设立在与新的入口广场相连的地方。

参观中心是一座带拱廊的混凝土展馆,屋顶由天窗和网架组成,可以投射出不断变化的阴影图案。

底层容纳了一个餐厅和其他的公共服务设施。
历史博物馆由一个几乎全地下的三棱柱状结构构成,高16.5m,长183m(54x600ft),并且由南向北插入,将亚德瓦谢姆山(YadVashem)切断。
地下展馆的天窗系统线性排布在三棱柱的两侧。
名字堂位于历史博物馆的尽端,是一个9m(30ft)高的锥体结构。
其上面记录着所有已知的大屠杀中受害者的姓名。
倒置的锥体深深地插入耶路撒冷岩层的下面,在呼应上层空间的同时体现了对于无名逝者的纪念。
面积为20hm2(50英亩)的基地中,还包含儿童大屠杀纪念馆和流放纪念馆,同样由建筑师摩西·萨夫迪设计,分别建成于1987年和1995年。

Themevoahisanarcadedconcretepavilionroofedbyskylightsandtrellises,whichcastever-changingshadowpatterns.ItisreminiscentofaSuccah.Thelowerlevelaccommodatesarestaurantandotherpublicservices.
Thehistoricmuseumconsistsofamostlyundergroundprismaticstructure16.5metershighand183meterslong(54x600feet)thatcutsthroughtheYadVashemhillside,penetratingfromthesouthandprotrudingtothenorth.Anetworkofskylitundergroundgallerieslinesbothsidesoftheprism.
TheHallofNames,locatedtowardtheendofthehistoricmuseum,isaconicalstructure
extendingupward9meters(30feet)andhousingthepersonalrecordsofallknownHolocaustvictims.Areciprocalcone,penetratingdeepintotheJerusalembedrockbelow,echoestheupperchamberandcommemoratesthosewhosenameswillneverbeknown.
The20-hectare(50-acre)sitealsoincludestheChildren'sHolocaustMemorialandtheTransportMemorial,designedbyMosheSafdieandcompletedin1987and1995,respectively,aswellastheHallofRemembrance,administrativeoffices,aneducationandarchivalcenterandtheValleyoftheCommunities.

要设计一个带有开放性的吸引公众的入口、并与外部世界有紧密联系的展览馆,就必须仔细考虑艺术品的展示要求:
具体来说,建筑必须能够控制温湿度、热舒适性、人工和自然光、空气污染物的排除、优化能源使用、隔音和空气调节方式。
内部空间的设计采取了交叉街道的流线组织方式。
参观者被指引到十字路口——定位点,然后再作出进入、通过或是上行的决定。
在这个十字路口,“白盒子”展厅和“黑盒子”影音室,通过光明开放和黑暗私密这一对比性感受,各自区分开来。
展览馆具有供大型作品展示的开口;墙体可以移动,照明系统能够变换,交互多媒体展品的安装和主要展览的组织都不会封闭任何其他的展厅空间。
无论是传统的壁挂油画,还是数字展示或装置艺术,技术复杂的动态设计都能够满足不同形式的当代艺术展览要求。
与环境的联系和入口的处理体现了展览馆阐释场地的方式,表达了与自然和城市环境的关系。
这座展览馆的布局是对河流曲线和城市格网理性而直观的回应。

Thenewgalleryisapavilioninthepark.ItissitedperpendiculartotherivertotherivertoterminatetheSouthbankculturalprecinct,defineanewpublicplazainfrontofthebuildingandenlargetheparklandsatKurilpaPoint.Thereare15galleryspaces,eachwithitsowncharacterandfunction,alldifferinginscale,materialandtheiruseoflight.
Thegalleryisavenueforeventsaninstallationsaswellasexhibitingvariousmedia,artformsandpractices.
Agallerythatisopen,withinvitingandeasypublicaccessandastrongconnectionwiththeworldoutside,mustbedesignedwithcarefulconsiderationfortheexhibitionofart:
specifically,thebuildingmustenablethecontroloftemperatureandhumidity,thermalcomfort,artificialandnaturallight,eliminationofairpollutants,optimalenergyuse,insulationandairdistribution.
Theinteriorisclearlyorderedbyacross-streetcirculationpattern.Visitorsaredrawntotheintersection-apointoforientation-beforemakingacommitmenttoenter,passthroughorascend.Atthisintersection,the‘whitebox’galleryand‘blackbox’areclearlydefinedascontrastingexperiencesoflightnessandopenness,anddarknessandintimacy.
Thegalleryhaslargeopeningsforbigworks;wallscanbemoved,lightingsystemschanged,interactivemultimediaexhibitsinstalledandmajorexhibitionsmountedwithoutclosinganyoftheothergalleryspaces.Thetechnologicallysophisticatedanddynamicdesigncanengagedifferentformsofcontemporaryart,fromtraditionalwall-hungpaintingstodigitalperformanceorinstallationart.
ConnectivityandaccessarealsoembodiedinthewaytheGalleryoccupiesandinterpretsthesite,informingthewayitispositionedinrelationtothenaturalandurbansetting.Theplacementofthispavilionisbothalogicalandintuitiveresponsetothecurveofriverandthegridofthecity.

位于萨凡纳的泰尔费尔艺术博物馆坐落在历史悠久的泰尔费尔广场旁,斜对着泰尔费尔艺术学院——这座南方最古老的公共艺术博物馆,是由建筑师威廉·杰在1818年-1819年间设计建造的。

约克大街一侧的玻璃立面与树木环绕的泰尔费尔广场相融合,由两片白色清水混凝土“网格”构成的玻璃墙面,将37m(120ft)的沿街立面分为小于18m(60ft)的片段,以满足萨凡纳历史街区的保护原则。
该博物馆的杰普森艺术中心大厅面向广场,由一段弧形的石材墙面围合,穿过大厅,可以通过宽大的楼梯通往楼上的两层。
大厅和楼梯的屋顶为采用玻璃和钢材构成的网格结构,光线透过网格结构投射到墙面和地面上,产生了丰富的阴影图案。
博物馆的2层容纳了一个200座的报告厅、办公区、一个图书馆和若干教学用画廊。
顶层设置的画廊用于展出临时展览、南方艺术、非洲-美国艺术和摄影作品。

建筑的外墙和主要的内墙墙面覆以浅色的葡萄牙石灰石。
