Jenningsvisitslocalchurchesandbusinessestocollectpaper，whichhebringstoarecyclingcenterformoney．Butinsteadofputtingthoseearningsinhisownbankaccount，hesendseverydollartoGeorgiaBaptistChildren’sHomes&FamilyMinistries．Onceayear，he’11givetheorganizationachecksomewherebetween$10,000and$35,000．By2016，thatreaches$400,000．

JenningsdevotedhimselftohelpingGeorgiaBaptistChildren’sHomes＆FamilyMinistriesafterhisfirstvisittherewhenhewas18．“Whenwewenttoleave，thesethreelittleboysgrabbedmebythekneesandsaid，‘Willyoubemydaddy?

Thesedays，Jennings’recyclinghasturnedintoacommunityeffort．Afterhe’smadehisownroundsrecyclingpaperfrombusinessesandchurches，he’11findmoreitemswaitingforhimathome．Communitymembersdropoffotherrecyclablesathishousesohecansellthem，alongwithbooks，food，clothes，andotheritemstogiveaway．

Recyclingcenterstypicallypayjustone-halftothreecentsperpoundofpaper，butJennings’visitshaveaddedupbigtime．In2016alone，hesoldmorethan400，000poundsofpaperand51，000aluminumcans，andcollectedmorethan32，000pennies．Overthecourseof32yearshe’srecycledmorethan9．8millionpoundsofpaper，savingallestimated79，000treesintheprocess．“Heisthelastofadyingbreed（种类），”wroteJennings’friendinaFacebookpost．“OurgenerationandtheonestofollowcouldlearnalotfromMr．Jennings．”

In1929GermanscientistssentabottlefloatingintheSouthIndianOcean．ThemessageaskedthefindertorecordthedateandplaceoftheFinding．Itaskedthatthenoteandboricbesetafloatagain．ThebottlefirstlandedatCapeHornatthetipofSouthAmerica．In1935itwaspickedupthesecondtime，offthecoastofAustralia．Thebottlehadtraveledmorethan16,000miles，possiblythefarthesttripbyabottle．

Thelongesttripintermsoftimetook150years．AJapanesesailorsentabottlefloatingin1784whenhisshipwaswreckedonaPacificOceanreef．In1943itwaspickedup—intheJapanesevillagewherehehadbeenborn．
