Theresearchersaskedeachstudenttoratetheirclassmates,intermsoftheirlikabilityandoftheirfeelingsofacademicsuperiority.Theythencomparedthoseratingswiththestudents’gradesinmath,physics,GermanandEnglish.Importantly,theyconductedtheanalysisattwodifferentsociallevels:
