SomeoneonceaskedanotherAmericanwriter,ErnestHemingway,howtobecomeawriter.Thebestthing,hesaid,wastohaveanunhappychildhood.Ifthisistrue,RobertFrost’schildhoodwasunhappyenoughtomakehimaverygoodpoet.RobertFrost’sfatherwasareporterwhowantedtobeapolitician.Heoftendranktoomuchwineandbecameangry.Robertwasthevictim(受害者)ofhisanger.
RobertFrostfinishedhighschoolin1891.Afterhighschool,Robert’sgrandfatherofferedtopayhiscostsatDartmouthCollege.ButRobertlefttheschoolafterafewmonths.Hedidnotlikeit.Hespentthenextfewyearsworkingatdifferentjobs.Atonetime,heworkedinafactory.Later,herepairedshoes.Hewasateacher.Hewasareporter.Always,hewrotepoetry(诗歌).
