摘要
艾米莉以她唯一一部小说《呼啸山庄》而闻名这是一部奇特而有力的小说曾被许多人誉为英国语言史上最杰出的作品。
这本书蕴涵丰富的情感和崇高的爱恋有着各种不同的世界观和人生观所以直到今天人们仍满怀热情地进行探索和解读。
本论文回顾了前人对《呼啸山庄》研究成果发现对小说中的男主角希斯克里夫性格及其形成原因的系统分析甚少所以本文详细分析了希斯克里夫的双重性格即呼啸山庄中所反映的他的爱与恨这两种极端的情感贯穿了《呼啸山庄》整个情节除了对希斯克里夫的性格进行分析本文还揭示了他的性格形成的原因。
从分析中我们知道希斯克里夫的爱与恨的增长与他生长的环境密切相关希斯克里夫的对爱情的追求失败触发了他疯狂报复但是他性格形成真正的原因是社会等级制度政治权力和宗教的压迫。
