ØEnglandbecameatypicalcapitalistcountryandthestrugglebetweentheworkersandcapitalistsbecamethefundamentalcontradictioninEnglishsociallife.In1836arosetheworking-classmovementknownasChartism.”ThenewPoorLaw1834/TheCornLaw(1815)
TheEnglishworkersgotthemselvesorganizedinbigcitiesandbroughtforththePeople’scharter.Inwhichtheydemandedbasicrightsandbetterlivingandworkingconditions.
They,forthreetimes,madeappealstothegovernment,withhundredsofthousandsofpeople’ssignatures.Themovementsweptovermostofthecitiesinthecountry.Althoughthemovementdeclinedtoanendin1848,itdidbringsomeimprovementtothewelfareoftheworkingclass.
ThiswasthefirstmassmovementoftheEnglishworkingclassandtheearlysignoftheawakeningofthepoor,oppressedpeople.
