Bowen,amotheroftwoadopted（收养）Chinesedaughters,isdirectorofHalftheSkyFoundation,anorganizationwhichwasfoundedin1998andaimstoenrichthelivesoforphanedchildreninChina．Innearly10years,BowenandHalftheSkyhavetouchedthelivesofover13,000children．HalftheSkyisnowpresentin36welfareinstitutionsin28Chinesecities．
