Abstract
Englishisoneofthemaininternationallanguageintheworldandisalsothemostwidelyusedlanguageallovertheworld.Therebefore,wechosethetopictocarryontheresearch.WedothisresearchisinordertoshowtherealstateofEnglishlearningofthegraduatestudentsforthreeyears.Inthisproject,wewillexploretheways,thefrequency,theeffectsandthedifficultiesoftheirEnglishlearning.weusetheinterviewingmethodtotalkabouttheEnglishlevelofthegraduatestudentswiththeirteachersandtheEnglishlearningecperiencewithsomegraduatestudents.
Weusethequestionnairemethodtoshowenoughquestionsthatwewanttoknowtothegraduatestudents.Weusetherandommethodtochosetheinterviewedgraduatestudentsandtheteachersandchoseagroupofgraduatestudentsforthreeyearstohandoutourquestionnairesforthisinvestigation.Bysuchastudy,wecangiveinsightsintothegraduatestudents’stateandlevelofEnglishlearning.Finally,analysisofthedatesindicatesthatmostofthegraduatestudentsfor3yearhavelearnedEnglishabout10years.BylearningEnglish,theywanttogethighgrade,gainmorecertificatesandfindgoodjobsinthefuture.TheyalsohopethattheirlisteningskillandoralEnglishcanbeimprovedgreatly.

1Introduction
ThereisnodoubtthatEnglishisoneoftheworld'smostwidelyusedlanguages.Peopleusealanguageinoneofthreeways:
asanativelanguage,asasecondlanguage,orasaforeignlanguage.EnglishisspokenasanativelanguagebyoverthreehundredsmillionpeopleintheUnitedStates,Britain,Australia,NewZealand,Canada,somecaribbeancountriesandSouthAfrica.Asasecondlanguage,Englishisoftennecessaryforofficialbusiness,education,informationandotheractivitiesinmanycountries.
Englishhasinfactbecomethelanguageofinternationalcooperationisscienceandtechnology.Themostadvancedresuitsinspace,nuclearandcomputerresearcharepublishedinit.AscientistwhospeaksandwritesEnglishisinclosertouchwiththescientistsinothercountriesthanonewhodoesn't.
Englishisoneofthemaininternationallanguageintheworldandisalsothemostwidelyusedlanguageallovertheworld.AsChinaisopeningtotheoutsideworld,learningEnglishisbecomingmoreandmoreimportant.Asgraduatestudents,masteringEnglishwellisbeneficialforboththeemploymentandthecommunicationinthedailylife.Forgraduatestudents,thereisEnglishlessonstolearninthefirstyearbutnolessonsinthesecondandthirdyear.TheyneedtolearnEnglishbythemselvesinmostoftime.Therefore,wechosethetopictocarryontheresearch.

2.1SurveyMethodology
Inthisreport,primarydatacollectionmethodsareemployedinordertogainactualinformationofstudents.Itincludesforeparts:
Questionnairesurvey,Sampleselectionanddatacollection,ResearchEthicsandDataanalysis.Inthisstudy,questionnairesurveyaimstoidentifystudents’actualperspectivesandattitudestowardsEnglishlearning.Thesecondstepisusedtosendcollectionquestionnaires.Permissionhasbeengiveninwritingbythecompanytoundertakethisresearch.Thefinalstepistododataanalysis.Intermsofthereceiveddata,somestatisticanalysistechniquesareusedtoanalyzethereceiveddata,suchasdescriptivestatisticanalysis,confirmationfactoranalysis,correlationanalysisandregressionanalysis.

Fromchart1,Wehave100peopletojointhisresearchproposal.Thereare4percentofthemlearningEnglishforfourtosevenyearsandtwentyninepercentofthemlearningforeighttotenyears.Themostlearnitforelevenyears,accountfor67percent.WecanseethatmostpeoplestudyEnglishforalongtime,butwhatabouttheirEnglishabilities?
MaybetheyareinterestedinEnglish.Theydon’ttrytheirbesttolearnitwell.WhatweshoulddoistolearnEnglishefficientlyandspeakitfrequently.
Fromchart2,wecanseethatnoonethoughtstudyingEnglishfrequentlyisnothingimportant.However,,nearlysevenpercentpeoplethoughtitinmarginalimportance.Thereare41percentpeoplethinkitquiteimportantand52percentthinkitveryimportant.Itiswellknownthatnopainsnogains.IfwewanttolearnEnglishwell,wemustmaketheefforttostudyitwell.

Astheresearchsaidthatthereare14percentpeoplelearningEnglishontimes.Thereare67percentpeoplelearningEnglishonetothreetimesinaweek.About17percentpeoplelearnfourtosixtimesperweek.Only2percentpeoplelearnitforseventimes.Asfarasweareconcerned,learningEnglishfrequentlyisthemosteffectivewaystostudyitwell.Asaresult,weshouldimprovetheinterestingoflearningEnglish,andspendenoughtimetostudyit.
Fromchart4,forthequestionthathowlongyoustudyEnglishonaverageeveryday,about55percentofpeoplestudyEnglishlessthanhalfhoureveryday,about42percentstudymorethanonehourbutnomorethan2hoursandonly3percentofpersonsspendmorethan2hoursonlearningEnglisheveryday.Thatistosay,only3among100peoplewhowehaveinvestgatedusemoretimeonEnglishlearning.Fromthedata,wecangettheconclusionthatmostofpeopledonotspendtoomuchtimeonEnglishlearningandtheystillhavenotpaidenoughattentiontolearnEnglish.

Fromthesurvey,itcanbeshownthatthemajorityoftherespondentschosetowatchEnglishmovies,theydeemthatwatchingEnglishmoviescannotonlyhaveagoodtime,butalsoimprovetheiroralEnglish. Inordertoenlargethevocabulary,abouthalfoftherespondentsreciteswordseveryday,butIthinkthatweshouldreadmoreEnglishessaysratherthanonlyrecitewords. What'smore,somerespondentsdosomeconventionalEnglishlearning,suchas,learningtheEnglishtextbook,ListeningEnglishradioanddoingEnglishexcises.

Sixtyonepercentoftherespondentsthinkthatcommunicatewithforeignteachersisthebestwaytoattractourinterest,soourforeignteachershouldtakemoretimetocommunicatewithus,andourclassmatesshouldaccepteverychancetotalkwithforeignteachers. HalfoftherespondentsthinksthatweshouldtakesomeEnglishgamesandsingmoreEnglishsongs,evenwecanperformsomeEnglishdramas. Inmyopinion,wecanlearnmorestudyfromgames,soweshoulddomorethoseactivities. What'smore,somerespondentsdeemthatEnglishDebates,EnglishlearningexchangesandEnglishnewspaperscanalsoimproveourinterest.

Luckily,eighteenpercentsoftherespondentschosetocheckthematerials,butonlyfivepercentsoftherespondentschosetoconsulttheEnglishteacher. IthinkthatweshouldchecktheEnglishtextbookfirstly,thenaskhelpfromEnglishteacherswhenwecomeacrossproblems. What'smore,therearelittlepeoplewillgiveitupwhentheycomeacrossproblem.
