Theboycottcontinued.ItwasdifficultforAfricanAmericanstogettoworkwithoutbuses,buttheydidn'tstoptheboycott.Thecitycontinuedtolosemoney.Finally,theU.S.SupremeCourtdecidedthatMontgomery'sbuslawswereunfairandgavetheAfricanAmericancommunityequalright.OnDecember21,1956thebusboycottended.
TheMontgomeryBusBoycottwasthebeginningoftheCivilRightsMovement.The
movementeventuallyledtotheCivilRightsActin1964,asetoflawsthatmadediscriminationacrime.DuringtheMontgomeryBusBoycott,peopleworkedtogethertochangethegovernment.Today,peopleintheU.S.continuetoworktogetherforchange.NowhundredsoforganizationsandcommunitygroupsworktoprotecttherightsofU.S.citizensandresidents.
