Thisyearweaddedanewelementtotheprogram.Throughoneofourpartners,wewereabletoconnectwiththenonprofitVeteran’sAnandaIncorporated.StudentsintheHomebuildingclassareleadingthedesignandproductionofmicrohousestobedonatedtothisorganization.Thenewpartnershipgivesthestudentsanotherfocustoconsiderwhendesigningandbuildingthehouses.
Therehasbeennoshortageofstudentssinceourfirstyear.Threeyearsagowehad41students,thenext191,andthisyearitwaslimitedtojustover160studentssowecouldhaveasafeandmanageableclassroomenvironment.Thenumberofgirlstakingtheclasshasrisensteadilyoverthelastfewyearsaswell.Thisclassofferssomethingforeveryoneandtheskillsareuniversal.
