Eventhroughwearelivinginthe21stcentre,andwiththepoweroftheInternet,wearegettingsomuchinformationeverydaythatwethinknothingwillsurpriseus,butitisstillveryhardtobelievethatacompanycaneverbesosuccessful.ApplebecamethemostvaluablecompanyintheworldinAugust11,2011.（Markoff,2011）Appleisalegendarycompanyinthemusic,themobilephoneandthecomputerindustry,withcountlessnumberoffansallovertheworld.Itcreatedthebestmusicplayers--iPods,whichhasamarketshareof78%intheAmericanmarket.（Cook,2011）IthastheNo.1musicstoreintheworldwithtwentymillionsongswaitingtobesold,andithadsoldsixteenbillionsongsontheinternet.（Cook,2011）MacbookAiralongwithitsoperatingsystem--MacOSLion,isrankedthebestlaptopandthebestoperatingsystemintheworld.（Loftus,2011）TheiPhone4istheNo.1productinsmartphonemarketwithacustomersatisfactionof96%.（Cook,2011）AppleisevenricherthantheAmericanFederalReserve,withanassetofcashofoverseventybillionUSdollars.（YahooFinance,2011）Behindallthesegorgeousdata,isthecreatorandthesoulofApple,SteveJobs,amanwhochangedtheworld.

SteveJobsisahottopic,heisoneofthemostfamousentrepreneursintheworld.Hewastheco-founderandCEOofAppleandPixar,andhewasalsothelargestindividualshareholderofDisney.Hisblackshirtandbluejeansbecamethesymbolofsiliconvalley.ThecancerthatSteveJobshadwasdestroyinghishealthandhebecamethinnereveryday,butwhenwelookathiseyes,wecanseeagiantinside.EachtimeSteveJobsgaveakeynoteaboutnewproducts,theworldwillbeshocked.IfthereisawordtodescribeAppleandSteveJobs,thewordmustbe“magical”.

SteveJobswasbornatFebruary24,1955,SanFrancisco.（Young&Simon,2010）LotsofSteveJobs’personalitiesweredevelopedduringhisyoungage,suchashisabilitytogivewonderfulspeeches.Healwaysgotwhathewantedbyconveningpeople,forexample,heconvenedhisadoptedparentstospenttheirwholelifesavingtosenthimtoReedCollege,wherehelearnttheknowledgeaboutfontdesigning.LaterhequittedthecollegeandwenttoIndiatostudybuddhism,andthisexperiencechangedhiswaytoactandtothinkforever.Hischildhoodwasspentnearthesiliconvalley,andhisneighborswereworkingforHewlett-Packardatthattime,andSteveJobswasinfluencedalotbythesepeoplewhowereworkingintheITindustry.In1975,hemetSteveWozniak,whoturnedouttobeageniusinelectronics.Whenthesetwopeoplebecamefriendswitheachother,somethingbigwasabouttohappen.

1976-1985

SteveJobsandSteveWozniakwasbothcrazyaboutcomputers,butcomputersatthattimewasveryhugeandextremelyexpensive.SothetwoStevesdecidedtobuildapersonalcomputer,andtheydidnotrealizedthatwhattheydidchangedthewholeworld.Theybuiltthefirstpersonalcomputerintheworldinjustafewweeks,itwastheAppleI.SteveJobssawthevalueinthismachine,andhewasbrightenoughtoseethefutureofpersonalcomputers.SotheystartedthecompanycalledAppleinSteveJobs’garagewith1300dollarsintheAprilfools’dayof1976,andtheysoldout50AppleIcomputersintheirfirstdeal.（Young&Simon,2010）Lateron,AppleIIcomputerblewpeopleaway,andtheWallStreetJournaldescribedAppleIIasthebicycleforhumanbeinginthe21stcentre.（1977）Itchangedthewayofpeoplethinkingaboutacomputer,andApple,alongwithSteveJobs,becameworldfamous.

However,theproductafterAppleII,theLisacomputerwastheblastingfuseofSteveJobs’left.Itwastooexpensiveandpeoplejustcouldn’taffordit.Hemadeahugemistakeonmarketingstrategy,andApplewasinverybadsituation.Asaresult,in1985,SteveJobsgotfiredbyacompanythathestarted.

Afreshstart

SteveJobswentouttheslumpbystartinganewcomputercompanycalledNextin1986.Also,inthesameyearhestartedthecomputeranimationcompany,Pixar,withasmallteamthatheboughtfromthefamousdirector,GeorgeLucas.SteveJobs’visionwasjustamazing,withPixar,hestartedarevolutioninthemovieindustry.Forexample,thefamousmovieToyStorywastheboxofficechampionofAmericain1995.ThosetwocompaniesplayedextremelyimportantroleinSteveJobs’legendarycareer,theNexthelpedhimtogetbacktoAppleandthePixarhelpedhimtobecamethelargestindividualshareholderofDisney.

Magicalshowtime

Whenthe“apple”withoutJobswasgoingtobeeaten,hecameback,in1996.HesavedApple.Theworldhadneverbeenbetter,becausenowithadtheiMac,acomputerwithadesignwhichlookslikeitcomesfromtheouterspace,anditranMacOSX,anoperatingsystemthathedevelopedinNext.TheiMaccouldnotbeanymoresuccessful.Withthefamousslogan:

Ithink,thereforeiMac,iMacwonthebestcomputerpricebyTimeMagazinein1998.

In2001,ApplereleasedtheiPod.iPodandtheonlinemusicstore--iTunes,changedthemusicindustryonceforall.Itchangedthewaypeoplelistentomusicandthewaypeoplebuymusic,andiPodsarethebestmusicplayersintheworld.

SteveJobsneverstopped.In2007,Applereinventedthephone.iPhonesbecamesopopularinonenight.NokiawasoncetheNo.1leaderinmobiledeviceindustry,nowthepositionbelongstoApple.（Jobs,2009）iPhoneschangedthewaypeoplethinkofaphone,andashesaid,“ItishardtorememberwhatitwaslikebeforeiPhone.”（Jobs,2009）Withthegiantmulti-touchscreen,andmillionsofapplications,iPhonesarethebestphoneintheworld.
