7.6.1GeneralInformation
ThispartoftheSpecificationscoversthedesign,manufacture,factorytesting,transport,delivery,erection,unloadingandstorageatsite,commissioningandhandingoverinsatisfactoryoperatingconditionofthepowertransformers,thedistributionandearthingtransformersaswellastheshuntreactors.
ThetransformersandreactorsshallbedesignedandarrangedinfullcompliancewithallapplicableSections,ArticlesandDrawingsoftheseSpecifications.

SupplementarystandardsaretheinternationalStandardsISO,theGermanstandardsDINandVDE,theBritishstandardsBSortheirsubsequentEURONORMs,theAmericanstandardsorspecificnationalstandardsintheabovementionedsequence,iftherearenorelevantIEC-standardsexistingand/orifexplicitlyaskedforintheseTenderDocuments.
TheBiddershallsubmitwithhisofferalistofsimilartransformersand/orreactorsalreadydeliveredbythemanufacturerproposed.InadditiontheBiddershallsubmitwithhisoffervalidcertificatesprovingthattheproposedmanufacturersarecertifiedbyISO9001.Manufacturersnothavingsufficientexperienceinmanufacturingandtestingofsimilartransformersand/orreactorslikethoseasspecifiedand/ornotbeingcertifiedbyISO9001willnotbeaccepted.
Eachitemwhichisobviouslynecessaryforproperfunctionandcompletionofthework,whetherespeciallyspecifiedintheTenderDocumentsornot,istobeincludedinthetenderprice.
7.6.2PowerTransformers
7.61.2.1General
Thedesignofthepowertransformersshallbebasedonthefollowingconditionsandrequirements:
∙Thedesignshallbebasedonthesiteandserviceconditions;ambienttemperature:
maximum50°C,averageofthehottestmonth40°C,yearlyaverage30°C
∙Themaximumpermissibletemperatureriseofthetransformeroil(topoil)shallnotexceed45K,andtheaveragetemperatureriseofthewindingistobelimitedto55K(hotspotmax.68K,hotspotfactor:
1.3).Thisisapplicableforalltapchangersettingsandallforcedcoolinginoperation
∙Thehottestspottemperatureat115%excitationandforcyclicloadingdutiesasperIEC60354shallnotexceedthelimitsasspecifiedintheTechnicalDataSheetsoftheseSpecificationsunderthermalsteadystateconditions
∙Thetransformers,completelyassembledwithbushings,cableboxesand/orflangeconnections,shallbedesignedandconstructedtowithstandwithoutdamagestheeffectsofshortcircuitsasperIEC60076-5foratleast3secondsatratedconditionsandafterallloadingconditionsasspecifiedinIEC 60354
∙Thetransformersshallbedesignedwithparticularattentiontothesuppressionofharmonicvoltagestoeliminatewaveformdistortionandfromanypossibilityofhighfrequencydisturbancesreachingsuchamagnitudetocauseinterferencewithcommunicationcircuits
∙Built-inshortcircuitlimitingreactors,ifany,shallnotbeinstalledinaseparatetankappendedtothemaintank
∙Neutralpointsshallbebroughtoutbysuitablemeansandshallbegrounded
∙Theopendeltaofstabilisingwinding,ifany,shallbebroughtoutbyoutdoorbushingsandshallbeshortenedandgroundedbysolidcopperbarsrigidlysupportedandfastened
∙InsulationoilusedforallpowertransformerandshuntreactorstobedeliveredforthesamesubstationshallbeofthesameoilmanufacturerandtypeandshallbeinfullcompliancewiththerelevantArticlesbelow
Furthermore,eachtransformershallcomplywiththestipulationsofthefollowingArticles.
7.61.2.2Windings
AlltransformerwindingsforLI:
350kV/AC:
140kVandbelowshallhaveuniforminsulation.Transformerwindingsdesignedforhigherinsulationlevelsmayhavenon-uniforminsulation.InthesecasestheratedACinsulationlevelforneutralpointsshallbeatleast95kV.
Duetothepossibilityofhightransferredover-voltagesnoneofthewindingsshallbedesignedforlessthanLI:
125kV/AC:
50kV.
ParticularvaluesforallinsulationandtestlevelsshallbeobtainedfromtheTechnicalDataSheetsoftheseSpecifications.
Built-inseriesreactors,ifprovided,areonlypermittedtobeconnectedin-linewiththeleadstotheentrancesofdelta-connectedtertiarywindings,andtheyshallbedesignedandarrangedwithparticularattentiontokeepalltransferredover-voltagesaslowaspossibleandtoavoidseriousresonances.Built-inneutralgroundingreactorswillnotbeaccepted.
Allwindingsandtheirleadsshallbedesignedandarrangedsuchastowithstandallkindsoftransferredover-voltages.Protectivecapacitorsshallnotbeprovidedforanyofthewindings.Non-linearZnOprotectiveelementsinanywindingsotherthanregulationwindingswillnotbeaccepted.
Windingsshallbeofbestmoderndesignwithconductorshavingconstantcross-sectionalongthewholewindings.Electrolyticcopperofahighconductivityandinsulationmaterialofhighqualityshallbeused.
Theinsulationmaterialofwindingsandconnectionsshallbefreefrominsulationcompoundssubjecttosoftening,shrinkingorcollapsingduringservice.Moreover,noneofthematerialusedshalldisintegrate,carboniseorbecomebrittleundertheactionofhotoil,underallspecifiedloadconditions.
ThecoilsmustbecapableofwithstandingmovementanddistortioncausedbyalloperatingconditionsasspecifiedinIEC60354.Adequatebarriersshallbeprovidedbetweenwindingsandcoreandbetweenthewindings.Allleadsorbarsfromthewindingstotheterminalboxesandbushingsshallberigidlysupported.Stressesoncoilsandconnectionsmustbeavoided.
Toincreasethecapabilityofthetransformersofwithstandingthestressesundershort-circuitconditionsmoderntechnologyindesignandconstructionshallbeapplied(e.g.lowcurrentdensities,andpre-dryingandpre-compressingofthewindingsbeforemountingontothecore,etc.).
Regulationwindingsfordeltaconnectedwindingsshallbeprovidedinmid-windingconnectiononly,unlessspecifiedotherwiseintheTechnicalDataSheets.
Thevaluesforimpedancevoltagesonextremetappingsshallnotdeviatefromthoseforprincipaltappingsbyapercentagevalueofmorethantwothirdofthedifferenceinpercentagetappingfactorbetweentheconcernedtappingsandtheprincipaltappings,andthetransformersshallhavethehighestlossesatthehighestcurrenttaps(lowestvoltagetaps).
7.61.2.3MagneticCore
Themagneticcoreshallbeofthecore-formtypeandshallbemadeoflaminationsofnon-ageing,cold-rolled,grain-oriented,siliconsteelofhighpermeability(Hi-B-type;W17/50:
max.1.05W/kg)withoutburrs(particularvaluesinaccordancewiththeTechnicalDataSheetsoftheseSpecifications).Anykindofshell-formcoreisnotacceptable.
UnlessspecifiedotherwiseintheTechnicalDataSheetsthemaximummagneticfluxdensityinthelegsandyokesofthecoreshallnotexceed1.65Teslaatratedvoltageandfrequency.ParticularvaluesshallbeobtainedfromtheTechnicalDataSheetstheseSpecifications.Eachlaminationshallbeinsulatedwithhighqualityinsulationcoating.
Thejointsoflimbsandyokesshallbedesignedandconstructedtokeeptheno-loadlossesandthehotspottemperatureinthemagneticcoreaswellasthenoiselevelaslowaspossiblebyapplicationofthestep-lapcore-stackingmethod.
Thecoreanditsclampingplatesshallformarigidunitstructurewhichshallmaintainitsformandpositionundertheseverestressesencounteredduringshipment,installationandshortcircuits.Careshallalsobetakentosecureuniformlydistributedmechanicalpressureoverallthelaminationstopreventsettingofthecoreandtolimitnoiseandvibrationstoaminimumunderserviceconditions.
Inordertopreventclosedmagneticcircuitviathetank,thetopmaincoreclampingstructureshallnotbeconnectedtothetankcover.Themagneticcoreshallbeearthedtothetankcoveratonepointonlythroughremovablelinksinanappropriateterminalbox,p
